Before there was a waffle house type restaurant in America - there was Bells! Opened in the early 1960âs itâs not changed much since then which is why itâs probably always busy! Nothinâ fancy, just southern cooking and fine hospitality - good corn bread and all the southern favorites - they have a busy take away going on too!

You are better off going to Waffle House near Walmart. This place needs a darn good clean. The service is sloppy and the food is just average at best.
Weâve tried to go to The Rebel several different times prior to this visit. We finally found them open! Yay!As we entered the establishment, we saw the counter was pretty much occupied. We chose a table at the window looking out on Doyle Street. The server took our order rather quickly. Thirty minutes later, we received our order. Hubs ordered a Reuben with the regular chips (fries were an up charge!). $9.99! What the what!?!?!? It was tasty, but VERY overpriced. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with NO BUN, NO CHIPS, and just lettuce, tomato, and onion. I was STILL charged $8.99. If youâd seen the size of the chicken breast, youâd have LAUGHED ALOUD! It was about half the size of my palm. I could have dealt with that had there been more L, T, and O. For dressing I asked for lemon. Our bill was $26.00 with tax and tip. That is RIDICULOUS! Everyone was nice. Food was good. EXTREMELY overpriced.
