For more than 65 years Denny's has been bringing people together over great food. It's the place where people can relax and be themselves; where they can enjoy classic American comfort food and everyday value. 24 hours a day. 365 days a year. Here, you ca
On Sunday, December 4, 2016, my wife, step-daughter, and I went to Dennyâs for a late breakfast.Since we live in Sandy, we stopped at the Dennyâs on 7200 South, but found out they are closed for renovation. We hoped that the Dennyâs on 4500 South would still be open, and they were. Some painters were painting the outside of the building, but they were careful to leave the way clear for customers going in and out.Even though we arrived at a little after 10 a.m., they were pretty busy, but still had several tables and booths. After only a moment, we were ushered to a booth by the window.Russell became our waiter. At his first visit to our table, James stood by to help him take our order. Evidently, Russell is new, but it was obvious that it couldnât have been his first day. He more than made up for being new with his friendliness and willingness to make sure we had everything we needed for a great breakfast at Dennyâs.My wife and I had the Grand Slam Slugger and her daughter had Moons Over My Hammy. As usual, we enjoyed our breakfast selections. We have found very little variation between locations, so we know what to expect. One place might fry the hash browns a little crisper or one server might fill the coffee more, but all in all, we keep going to Dennyâs when we want breakfast out somewhere because most visits are the same as others and at least very close to what we expect. Their prices are usually better than other places for the standard fare. When you find yourself needing breakfast out, be sure to drop in at Dennyâs on 4500 South. James told us that the location on 7200 South should be open in about a month or so, so watch for that one, too.

My fellow foodies I know at some point you come across a great restaurant and then at some point that place hit a curve. Today is such a day. This is a real time review as I just finished my breakfast. First thing I noticed was it took a little longer than normal to get recognized and asked for a drinks order. Eventually, we did get drinks and our order in. My wife ordered hash browns âcrispyâ which has never been an issue anywhere else, but today the server apologized because they didnât have crispy ones today (eh, really?). Then the hash browns my wife did get looked undercooked because they were mushy. I had the south of the border which is a mound of hash browns with a red Colorado style verde over it with cheese. I also ordered a side of bacon. Folks, I really like this place but the bacon was tepid, my toast cold, and if it wasnât for the verde then my entire meal would have been a deal breaker because it was tepid at best. The high point would be the scone which was piping hot, the ONLY thing piping hot. Bottom line is this place is and should be much better than this review, maybe everyone was having an off day this visit.

We were let down by the food. It was tasteless. The process for ordering was simple and straight forward, the staff was very pleasant and they bring your food to the table. The eating area is booths and they are big enough for large families. I notice some people who were just sitting around after eating. They had been there quite some time. Not a problem while we were there but it is not a place you want to be in.I will not go back.

Augie is a good place to go by yourself or with your family. Serves a great breakfast at an affordable price. The waitresses are friendly and go out of their way used to make you feel welcome.

We enjoyed our breakfast immensely. The pancakes were delicious, the eggs cooked perfectly. The place has older decor, but service and food were very good. We were there on a Saturday morning, and it was very crowded. Still, we got a table quickly and were served right away.

Enjoyed Dees hamburgers as a kid. Dees has gone from 1950's fast food drive-ins to quick food restaurants. Food still good and plentiful. Service still good and reliable. A welcome step up from McDonalds, Shari's, etc. yet not pricey like the pricey millennial places. Dees are my go-to places in the Salt Lake area.
