Jimmy's Pancake House

Stopped here for breakfast based on Tripadvisor reviews. This is a small place, not many tables at all but they do turn them over quickly. Biscuits and gravy was very good.My wife had an omelet and she said it was ok, nothing special..Bacon was burnt to a crisp, which some people like but I do not.Service was fast and friendly. We would probably eat here again as long as the wait was not very long, I would not wait 20 minutes to dine here, it just was not that great to warrant that long of a wait.

We tried the Egg Parlor mostly because it was new and we're always looking for a great breakfast. This unfortunately is not the place for great; good maybe. First the good. The restaurant is bright and airy, very welcoming. Service was good; prompt and attentive without hovering. Booths were comfortable. I ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice. Tasty and you get a decent about for $.3.99. Interesting to note, the menu does not have the prices for their drink section. This one has me curious. My wife ordered the "Parlor Breakfast", eggs, house potato, meat of choice (sausage or bacon, no ham offered), and fruit. Eggs were cooked pretty close to over easy, whites a tad runny. She was very pleased with the flavors of the house potatoes. The bacon presented was sad. She was happy it wasn't overly crispy, one end on both pieces were nothing but very undercooked fat. Toast was not part of the meal and could be had for an additional charge. Seriously? No toast with a basic breakfast? That's almost unAmerican! My meal was the breakfast burrito. The product presented was close, it lacked a good execution. Rather than mix/blend the ingredients (egg, cheddar, bacon, sausage, and house potato), they were laid out in layers. Not every bite had all the ingredients, some only egg, others only potato and sausage. Ah, the sausage. The sausage on the burrito was cut up sausage patties. Using just a ground sausage would, in my opinion, be tastier and more economical. The bacon got lost, mostly being overwhelmed by the sausage. Recommend offering either or both, depending upon the desire of the customer. Pico de gallo sparsely garnishes the plate. No other salsa is offered other than the pico. Tabasco and another hot sauce are available.Sorry to report that, in our estimation, the coffee was best left in the pot. We found it bitter with an odd after tasted. Nothing wrong with the coffee, it's just what they offer.. Nope, breakfast experience did not color this assessment, we got coffee well before we ate. This is a compliant that I have with many establishments recently. I don't want my bill until everyone at the table is finished eating. I find it rude to have the bill placed on the table while I'm still chewing. Chill, make it relaxing and let the customer sti back. Will we be back? Perhaps. As with any review, I urge any readers to make their own minds up by actually giving the place a try. You may like it and think I'm nuts. I'm cook with that.

The wait staff is fast and courteous. The entire facility is spotless. The menus weren't slimy. The seats and table weren't sticky. I'm amazed at the cleanliness for a diner style restaurant. All the condiments were full. The servings were huge and really good selection. The coffee was fresh and tasty. We had omelets and french toast. Both were made with fresh ingredients. I'd go back here every weekend if I lived in the same state.
