We visited the Pelican Diner on Wednesday August 7th for breakfast and the next evening, August 8th for an unplanned supper. Breakfast is NOT a hard meal to prepare and we chose the Pelican Diner to give them âanother chanceâ after a disappointing breakfast some time ago. I ordered a cheese omelet, which was small, thin and tasteless. Additionally, I doubt that there was even two large eggs used as it was noticeably small. When the omelet was delivered to the table by another person other than our waitress, I asked for some salsa and was told it would be right out. I never received the salsa, nor did we see our waitress during our meal, showing up only after we both had finished our breakfast. Hash browns were greasy, and we even asked for them to be well done to try to omit some of the anticipated greasy presentation as previously received....nope, no such luck.Supper the next night was during a severe rainstorm and the restaurant was empty for the most part at about 630pm. We ducked in there for the convenience of our location....my Reuben sandwich was small and not necessarily hot. Fries were greasy.....but to top it off, here is the kicker: although there are three or so desserts listed on the menu, our waitress informed us that she hoped that we did not want dessert , because they did not have ANY. One of this desserts listed was vanilla bean ice cream......how do you not have a container of vanilla ice cream in a restaurant?Lastly, this restaurant is not a bargain by any means and their prices are $$ on the usual scale...to conclude, there are too many nice restaurant choices with the Pelican Diners tripe of menu choices for us to return to this restaurant. Speaking with friends and neighbors about my comments about this restaurant, it is said that once the restaurant moved to its location by the golf course, the quality has suffered.

Our Diner is filled with antiques and artifacts from years gone by. We pride ourselves on homemade entrees with fast and friendly service, while still offering a great value for your dining dollar. Our nightly specials include Prime Rib, an All You Can Ea
The Roadside Restaurant doesn't look like much but the home-style, filling and comforting food is prepared well, is fresh and tastes great - all for the right price. Geared to the Cracker Barrel crowd, this place offers pot roast, meatloaf etc but delivers a really good cobb salad with grilled chicken (my favorite there). For mid-level prices with something on the menu to please everyone - this place is hard to beat.
