Wow! So surprised! On our way to the HITS show and we stopped in for breakfast! It was so good. I had the eggs Benedict and the Hollandaise sauce was really good and lemony! My husband had the pancake breakfast and it was really good, too!

Starway worked out well for a family dinner after a day at HITS Saugerties. The menu should work for everyone because it offers all day breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, hot meals, pizza, and more. The restaurant is right off of Exit 20 in the NYS Thruway, so it is easy to access. We hope it works as well for you as it did for us.

It was Sunday morning. We were headed our way to the diner in Saugerties (which we have never been to) when we spotted Barclay's along the way. Figuring it's pretty hard for a diner to screw up breakfast, we decided to save time and dine here instead. I guess the locals come here for the breakfast buffet. Our waitress assumed that's what we wanted as well. She kind of looked at us funny when we ordered omelettes off the menu. The eggs (a western omelette and a greek one) were tasty. The rye bread was also good but they were rather cheap with the butter on it. The potatoes were not worth it, we hardly touched. This could be a solid diner, but what really ruined it was the cleanliness. The floors were sticky and there was food that previous diners had dropped on the floor, pretty gross. On the way out I used the ladies room and walked past the infamous buffet. It looked like dried out eggs, pancakes, etc....I hope it's inexpensive. Maybe being from NJ where top notch diners are all over I'm being too picky, but this place was overall kind yucky. A little cleaning goes a long way!

Working our way south on the NYS Thruway late at night, we stopped at a nice clean HoJo, fortuitously attached to the Saugerties Diner, a classic with original wooden booths & neon fixtures, where we had a delicious breakfast the next morning: Filled with chunks of sweet onion & green pepper, my choice, a Western egg sandwich on rye toast, was one of the thickest & best anywherer. The lunch & dinner menus, including a buffet, are extensive & look worthwhile too.
