Someone said that this is the #1 diner in the US, I cannot prove that, but it is a great place to eat. Forget that it is a diner, it is a great restaurant with an extensive menu, great food and excellent serviceYou might not be able to prove it, but you can certainly agree with it! The sculptures around the building, the crass interior design make this establishment kind of unique. As is the view of Manhattan skyline. Large portions, a little overpriced, very good service. And a full bar, what else could one ask for.

This is a "hidden gem" of dining--on the cheap. Right down the street from the Thomas Edison National Historic Park, the Americana has the feeling of the 50s diner with great food. The quality and quantity were perfect and the serving staff was friendly.

The ambiance is very good.The service is okay.Perhaps they are a little short staffed?The food varies between excellent and vary good depending on what you order.BUT.... The noise level is unacceptably high in various parts of the diner.Dear Richard,Thank you for taking your time sharing your experience at State Street Grill!
