This coffee shop/diner was the best! It had great food, great prices and great service from great servers. The food was home made and delicious. Large portions and this place is very popular with the locals. We ate breakfast there twice in the three days that we were in town. Highly recommend.

As UK visitors to the US we chanced upon this must visit diner. It was a rainy day in Maine and all the tables were full but we luckily arrived just as two customers vacated their bar seats. We just loved it, but having had breakfast, had to sit and watch with envy as everyone tucked into great breakfast feasts. From our vantage position, we could see everything was freshly cooked and if they could every request accommodated. Coffee was plentiful and in the end I had to succumb to a fresh muffin.Sadly we had a timetable to arrive in Kennebunkport so we had to leave, but I have to say on our trip too America including New York, Boston, Kennebunkport, this was a truly memorable find that we will remember for its charm, a long time. I even took photo's.

The Ugly Mug Diner our a modern take on classic American diner fare. Everything is made from scratch, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and always served with love. In addition to our extensive food menu, we also have a huge variety of mimosas, a
Upon arriving, we were yelled at for bringing in outside coffees and told we had to leave the outside. I have never heard of such a thing and it wasnât like we werenât going to be buying beverages and food in there. The woman was just not nice about it. She was rude all around. I get it itâs October. I visit Salem often and year round and it wasnât even that busy. She was rude to everyone sitting at the counter and just kept saying âweâre busy.â Girl, if you canât handle a busy diner in October, waitressing in Salem is not for you. Everyone there was just not personable. Thankfully the pancakes PUMPKIN were delicious. Unfortunately I will not return. So many places to eat in Salem with happy hosts! Sorry to hear you had a less than stellar experience with our staff, Jamie! I will say that the prohibition of any outside food or beverages is a legal stipulation of our beer and wine license issued by the city, it's just not some arbitrary policy we have at the restaurant with the hopes of stuffing a few more bucks into our pocket. I honestly don't even think I would care that much if people could bring their own beverages in, I would just feel bad if they're missing out on the awesome drinks we offer. So I am sorry if someone on our staff seemed short with you, but she was just looking our for the restaurants best interests and as you said, it is October, and I'm sure it was busy - everyone wants to walk around town with a warm cider or pumpkin coffee this time of year, ya know? I'm definitely not saying you were rude to her, either, I did not see the interaction. However, I will say that we have the most wonderfully introverted group of servers I've ever worked alongside during my sixteen years in the restaurant industry and If one of them ever "yelled at" anyone, I would pay good money to see it. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you at least enjoyed the food, we make everything with love. I DO hope you decide to change your mind and give us another chance in the future, however! We would love to win you over!

Neat little diner...a throw back (waaayyy back) to the way it was! Tiny..maybe seats 6 tables and 10 or so at the counter...but the food is what your here for. Definitely a "neighborhood staple" !! On a main route into town, so LOTS of traffic and small off street parking behind...so be prepared to park on the street or wedge yourself in the back. Prompt and cheerful service....food was ready in minutes and it was delicious !! Try it folks...you'll like it!
