Karla and I had brunch with friends at Meganâs today along with everyone else in Hot Springs. It was packed. The parking lot is small and spaces were limited. The building is old and we were not greeted upon entering except to rake our name. We had a 20-minute wait. The dining room is small and rabies not used efficiently. Two tables for 4 had one diner at the table. Food menus are large and my wife had an ultimate omelet and loved it. I had the breakfast bar and it was good. Our friends had pancakes and loved them. Great value.

Small cafe with good food and super friendly service. Lot of locals patronize. Had breakfast the first time, went back for lunch and again for breakast. Eggs cooked perfect, ordered crispy bacon and it was. Hashbrowns very crispy and flavorful. Waffle was very good. The club sandwich was loaded with meat and the philly steak was very tender and delicious. Plate lunces are super.. Only criticism - out of juice one day (orange & apple) and out of lemonade at lunch. We recommend Shady Grove. Will be going back.

Went there on the recommendation that they had good gumbo. Hey, I'm in the South so it should be good. Apparently the person making the recommendation was not familiar with good gumbo. Mine was less than average and the sausage was not andouille sausage.....that in itself is a sin.My wife had a chef salad that she indicated was "OK".We were there after 1:30 PM and the lunch crowd (if they had one) was gone yet the service was painfully slow......and the waitress was much younger than a granny !!Lastly, the floor was quite dirty and even there were 2 or 3 employees in the room with little to do with customers, no effort to clean was seen.

Our 1st time at Rise and Dine Cafe on Airport. We are always trying new places and since we were out and about in the morning, decided to hunt down this cafe. First, it is actually hard to find because it is in the end cap of a strip of stores with no sign out by the road. Just look for Sherwin Williams Paint and you are in the right place. Second, if you locate it, you will realize that they are packed to the gills with regulars... hence, maybe they don't need a sign...lol. Employees decked out for Halloween, full tables, people wandering around visiting table to table... I could hear the theme song for "Cheers" in my head (where everybody knows your name) while we ate a really good breakfast with decent prices. My picky husband even complimented the sourdough toast as "very good". I had the hash plate and loved it. So if you are looking for the local hangout to eat a substantial, good breakfast, then head to the Rise and Dine Cafeâ

Waiting 1.5 hours to be seated on a busy, high-tourist season weekend was understandable. Our party of three was waited on relatively quickly although the restaurant appeared to be understaffed. Despite the sign on the window declaring Southern Living voting it âBest Breakfast in the South in 2011 & 2015â, I found the breakfast to me mediocre as a lifelong resident of the Deep South. Be aware this restaurant closes at 2:30 in the afternoon.

We stopped by on a Saturday morning and were seated immediately! Others after us had a short wait but were directed to the shop next door to shop and wait. We ordered apple pancakes, blueberry pancakes, sausage and bacon. Everything was great but the pancakes were amazing!! Coffee was great too! Would definitely want to go back!
