We did not have a plan on our way from New York to Boston to stop for lunch, and wound up at this place in Hamden CT. Hamden is one very sad looking town, and the diner also felt a little sad, although it is undergoing renovation. The bathroom was spectacular! The food was fine, nothing out of the ordinary for a diner. And service is also typical diner, which is to say a little haphazard and rough around the edges, but friendly enough. There's little reason to go out of your way to come here.

The acropolis diner is pretty good. It's not a pull off the highway every trip stop, but it's a decent place to grab breakfast or lunch if you are in Hamden. The service is friendly, but quite slow. They have good iced coffee. The food was good. I chose the egg white omelette with avocado and tomato. It was well prepared and flavorful. Good homefries and toast!It's your typical diner for atmosphere's sake, kept relatively clean and decently priced!Check it out.

We have passed this place many times (usually after 3PM when it closes) as my husband has many medical appointments in Cheshire. The other day he had a very early one, and he stopped here coming back. "I've always wanted to try it", he said.Typical luncheonette, clean, spare. We have been watching our diets so ordered scrambled eggs and bacon and substituted sliced tomatos for the home fries and toast; no problems whatsoever, lots of tomato. Asked for honey for tea and they had organic raw honey, a pleasant surprise, not those little hard-to-open packets that leave you with sticky fingers. Everything was tasty, served very quickly. My husband's verdict was that "this place is excellent, great food, great prices, great service, and you'd better give them a great review on Trip Advisor." I don't usually remember to review local spots like this, but here 'tis thanks to him.One unusual thing I noted, as most diners are Greek run, this one offered (seasonally, it noted) "Albanian tea", so it must be Albanian run. Interesting, and I would like to try that tea.

I was in town for graduation at Quinnpiac University and was having breakfast with the Dean of the School of Business. I got there early and had two cups of coffee. The coffee was great, which is always a good indication. Service was fast and very attentive. After we ordered, it was only a matter of minutes before the food arrived. I had the French Toast and it was excellent. Food quality for the price and value was exceptional. They were open early and it really was the perfect location for an off campus conversation before the crowds arrived.

Used to be terrific now it's living on it's past. My last 4 visits were 2 OK 2 burnt or over cooked and greasy. Wait staff over worked or talk to friends. Kind of dirty at times. I've stopped going.Len, Harsh is an understatement of your response and review but, I guess everyone has a bad day. We are not dirty and this review is unfair to say the least. Small businesses get the shaft next to the chain stores where the saying âyou get what you get and you canât get upsetâ comes to mind. You, cannot complain at the chain store because, it wonât get you anywhere and you cannot affect them the way you are trying to affect this place. For Small businesses on the other hand itâs a different ball game all together. The owners and the same familiar employees are there for years and try to give as much personal attention to each client as they can but, seeing as though itâs busy itâs difficult. We apologize that your experience with us has ended I wish you couldâve given us the chance to resolve the situation rather than take this approach.
