This is the iconic lunch counter joint featured in The Help. Drug store lunch counter food (grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, fries) that you remember from your youth, if you're over 50. Yes, you can get a shake with that. It's the ambiance, not the food, which is the attraction. The back room becomes an authentic speak-easy bar, after 4:30.

We visited during the holidays, and it was crowded. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. The waiting area was too small. Once we were seated, our server was timely and attentive, but very busy with a lot of other patrons. Our sides were cold ( onion rings and fries), but they would have been good. The breading on the onion rings was excellent. Our entrees were warm and overall good. Although we had finger foods, we did not get any silverware, which I think should be standard. One should not have to ask for silverware. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, maybe too many to handle in the kitchen.

I love waffles and my spouse loves hashbrowns. Why not go to the Waffle House? It was busy when we went at 10:45p but well worth the wait. Lilian was our server she was very efficient and nice. The tables could of been cleaned a little harder - they were slightly sticky. Food was excellent.
