Darwen is a market town and civil parish located in Lancashire, England. Along with its northerly neighbour, Blackburn, it forms the Borough of Blackburn with Darwen — a unitary authority area. It is known locally as "Darren" and its residents are known as "Darreners". The main road through Darwen is the A666 towards Blackburn to the north and Bolton to the south, and ultimately at the Pendlebury boundary with Irlams o' th' Height where it joins the A6, about 4 miles (6 km) north-west of Manchester. Darwen's population decreased to 28,046 in 2011 and is made up of five wards.

Been regular and very happy customers here for a long time - visited on Saturday to find Chris has left - despite the remaining staff being polite and helpful the place has lost all its soul and atmosphere. On top of that the food was dire! Fatty undercooked bacon on one burger, hardly a trace of peanut butter on the clucker, sauces served in those tiny tiny paper pots you get at the golden arches place!! Poor quality dry burger buns - really sad to see a place lose it so fast - sorry to the nice staff but we wont be coming back!

I have been visiting Freedom Organics on a regular basis since Vicky stated out on Darwen Market. Vicky provides excellent food at a great price. The food is top class and always fresh and tasty. There is a good choice each day and something different and new to try. There are plenty of fresh and dried foods to buy to take home. Vicky enjoys sharing her vegan knowledge and is never too busy to say hello and have a quick chat.
