We first visited this bar last year when it had only just opened. The Chef Sommelier is clearly knowledgeable the bar has modern decor with laid-back ambience. This year, we can report that they serve a good Champagne and a beautiful boutique-house XO cognac. We plan to visit the vineyard to take some home!

We discovered this hotel and restaurant at the last minute while visiting Cognac, and we showed up to 'La Distillerie' without calling ahead. A member of the hotel staff, Thomas, assisted us with our questions and with booking the restaurant for our party of 6. The staff at the restaurant were equally welcoming and professional. The atmosphere was casual and relaxing, but the quality of food and drinks far exceeded anything else in Cognac. Sophisticated yet simple, it was obvious the food we ordered was hand-crafted by a talented Chef and culinary team. We all ordered different dishes from the small menu (smaller is always preferred), and all were spectacular. When we thought it couldn't get any better, the desert selection, and the quality of each unique item, really put this place over the top. It exceeded all of our expectations. We had a wonderful evening, and I look forward to our next visit to this Hotel and is two amazing restaurants. Dear AnthonyS2,Thank you for your time after your visit at La Distillerie. I truly appreciate my good fortune in being able to dine at amazing restaurants across the globe, each new encounter I try to greet with openness and generosity. That being said, we all make preconceptions, it's only human. I was taken to La Foudres by dear friends who certainly appreciate good food and wine so I was hopeful, but I wasn't expecting anything special. La Foudres certainly is special and it is a lovely surprise on many levels. I love the fact that you have to walk quite awhile before you find yourself in the charming restaurant, it's worth the journey and once seated, the space feels private and allows you to focus on your company and the blissful food. Being a vegan I didn't know what to expect, again my expectations were surpassed with a bravura display of culinary skill and flare. Each course was original, satisfying and beautiful. My lasting impression was that Les Foudres feels of its place and time, an experience, which could not be, replicated anywhere else, and for that, I am truly appreciative.Dear Harold F,Thank you so much for your time and feed back from your last stay at Hotel Chais Monnet.
