Reviews on Diner food in Chatham, Massachusetts, United States. This pleasant, walkable town right at the elbow of Cape Cod is a classic New England vacation spot. Bringing kids? Check out calm beaches like Cockle Cove Beach and Harding’s Beach. If you’re looking for stunning scenery, however, try Chatham Lighthouse Beach. Its tides can be strong (heed the posted warnings), but it’s one of the most beautiful beaches on the Cape.

Overall we were not impressed. Stopped in on a quiet Saturday on a January morning. Upon entering we noticed four staff members standing around chatting, and about 8 customers sitting at various tables. We were welcomed quickly and sat down. We were greeted by a person with no smile, a monotone voice, and obviously had the want to be elsewhere. Coffee was ok, came rather quick. Food came quickly too. Hashbrowns were cold, toast was burnt, and eggs overdone. We would have sent it back if someone came back to check on us, but that never happened until we got our check. We never got refills on drinks, and never asked how was our food. Mind you they weren't very busy and had plenty of staff wandering around. For our first time visiting, we weren't impressed.

We only called in for a coffee as we were on a tour and did not have much time , but I wish we could have had a lunch here because the owner was a lovely friendly lady the place was so clean and the menu looked extremely good value for money perhaps next time

One of our highlights from last year, especially the popovers and the Filling Station Breakfast Sandwich, we stopped twice again this year, take out then eat in, for take out all four of us got the Filling Station Breakfast Sandwiches and they were awesome as before but we missed the popovers, so we had to eat in and indulge, we were seated right away and our drink orders were taken, drinks were brought out quickly and our breakfast orders were taken, my friend and I had the Old Fashioned Corned Beef Hash with eggs and of course popovers, my wife had two pouched eggs with home fries and muffin, our other friend had the The Classic benny : Thinly sliced country ham, two poached eggs on toasted English muffin and we also ordered, for the table, the Station French Toast: House made brioche dipped in an egg batter with a touch of vanilla, cinnamon and orange zest, served with butter and syrup all were hot, delicious and made to order and enjoyed by all, we will be backThank you very much for your continued patronage at the Filling Station Diner!
