The wife and I did a lil "last minute weekend getaway" and drove up to this area without hotel reservations. A few obstacles landed us in Bethel, CT. two doors up from the Stoney Hill Diner. What luck!? Walked in, and was immediately greeted with smiling faces and "welcome home" hospitality. Waitress was very nice and proficient. Food was "to die for"!! No charades, this place has that "throwback" vibe to the good ol days. From the decor to the service and everything in between, this staff could teach establishments anywhere in the country "how it's done".

First time at Sycamore for lunch. The service was excellent: attentive, informed and pleasant without being intrusive. Food was ok. Sandwich fine but the chef had an off-day with the onion rings which were very doughy and heavy. My companion had sweet potato fries with maple syrup which he loved.Ambience was fun and there was a surprising positive buzz throughout lunch.

Stopped with my wife at the tail end of the blizzard and we shared a healthy start wrap and Reuben sandwich. Good ingredients with friendly service makes this an above average diner experience and they get extra credit for being open when most eateries were closed during the storm!

4 adults came in and ordered basic meals, nothing fancy. We were here more then a hour!! It was busy when we arrived but emptied by the time we left. Our waitress was serving a large group of 8 near us and saw her waiting another table across the restaurant. Only checked on us once we got our food. Not coming back. You cannot be this slow for a diner on a Saturday. If I wanted to sit and eat for a hour 30 minutes I would go to a fancy place. Hey Julia! Thanks for the feedback. We reported this incident to management and will make sure our service is top notch as always. Even during busy time. We hope to see you again as we're confident the experience will be better.
