Thessaloniki (Greek: Θεσσαλονίκη, Thessaloníki [θesaloˈnici] ( listen)), also familiarly known as Thessalonica or Salonica, is the second-largest city in Greece, with over 1 million inhabitants in its metropolitan area, and the capital of Macedonia, the administrative region of Central Macedonia and the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia and Thrace. Its nickname is η Συμπρωτεύουσα (Symprotévousa), literally "the co-capital", a reference to its historical status as the Συμβασιλεύουσα (Symvasilévousa) or "co-reigning" city of the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire, alongside Constantinople.

A small tavern with great food and service. We enjoyed our meal (black risotto as hightlight) and the waitress also explained a bit about the beer and cheese we ordered. Definitely recommend!

Was in thessaloniki Greece for the World Food Travel Assoc Foodtrexx Summit and having tried most of the local street food, decided to try the local seafood cuisine, Fruitti Di Mare. First came the homemade seafood soup. It was without a doubt cooked from the fish bones and different types of fish pieces, potatoes, celeriac and local vine leaf. Deliciously homemade. The beer battered sardines was a taste of local fishermen energy, mussels although small was oh so soft tasty at the heart from the local wine that it was cooked in, salad, sea bream was a little small but texture remained fresh, but the highlight has to be the grilled fresh octopus, it was heavenly and everything expected from Greek seafood cuisine. That's not all, we had pineapple cream and coconut ice cream which I find it refreshing. Not forgetting the beautiful experience of the soft morning sun, cold wind that drifts across the open area next to the 500 yrs old turkish bath monument and sitting by the small dainty road that cars run through, this was truly a remarkable experience. Coupled w the friendly service by a lady called Freedom, I will take home a wonderful memory.thank you very much!
