Every time I am driving through the area I stop here.... the people who run the place are extremely friendly, always remember you, are courteous, and just good at what they do. They always have daily specials, but sometimes when I am stopping in I ask them to make me one of their own little creations and they always hit the spot!

The Subway Sandwich shop in Hyde Park, NY, is the best Subway in the Hudson Valley area. The staff is always very helpful, polite, and friendly and the sandwiches are carefully put together. I've visited other Subway shops where much less care is put into constructing the sandwiches and they fall apart. It may seem simple to create a good sandwich but, apparently, it takes more skill than I'd previously thought. Cash or Credit Cards accepted and there are booths and tables in the store for a sit-down meal. Children's meals are also available at a reduced price. I recommend picking up the sandwiches and going down the road a few minutes to eat then at the Vanderbilt Estate overlooking the river but for those who like sitting inside, they do provide the tables and booths.

Hill Top Deli is a great little store located on Route 9 in the village of Staatsburg, NY. The breakfast sandwiches in the morning are excellent, prepared fresh, and always served with a smile. The deli is well stocked with all of those last-minute items you forgot to pick up for dinner or the big party. They have a more than adequate beer selection which is reasonably priced. The lunch-time menu is just as good as breakfast. Service is fast, friendly, and the store is clean and welcoming. It's always a pleasure stopping in at Hill Top Deli.

Red Fox Eatery is located directly across the street from Marist College in a small strip mall. It's basically a well stocked deli and college kid hangout. The pesto chicken wrap with roasted red pepper was excellent and generously sized. Warm chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven were the perfect comfort food. 3 very large coolers provided many varieties of drinks to choose from. Loud rock music playing incessantly from an old boom box provided the only atmosphere but the owner is very friendly and welcoming. A good value for a picnic lunch too!
