With a long history dating back to before the American Revolution, it's not a surprise that Carlisle is full of historic treasures, including a church once attended by George Washington and a courthouse damaged by artillery during the Civil War. Despite this impressive heritage, the city is most famous for being Pennsylvania's "automotive capital," hosting ten annual car, truck, and motorcycle shows that are attended by a half a million people each year.

This feels like a diner but better. The service is friendly and efficient and the food is good. They serve some typical diner food but at better quality. The gyro platter is very filling. The most unique item is the hotchee dog. I remember eating something similar in northern NJ but nothing like it around here. Its a grilled hot dog with chili onions and mustard, you can get cheese as an option but I usually skip it. Tastes much better than the pretty common description might imply. IMPORTANT NOTE: Restaurant is CASH ONLY.

Take-out only deli that offers hearty sandwiches, wraps, subs, soups and salads. Everything is made fresh when ordered and is made just the way you like it. We offer a variety of breads, cheeses and toppings. Voted runner-up for best subs in Carlisle 2009
Possibly my favorite new spot in Carlisle. I got a footling Italian sub and my wife got a chicken bacon ranch sandwich and both are great! The tater tots are crunchy and delicious too!! I enjoyed my meal very much. The folks working here are top notch!

Mrs. Stams is a Carlisle institution. Hadn't been there for years but decided I wanted a crab cake. It tasted like their filling ball which is good but I wanted a crab cake. When I returned to cashier I was told it was a crab cake & its the recipe they've used for 60 years. Still tasted like filling, crab was missing. Experience reminded me why it had been years since I last ate there. Used to go for chicken but I prefer Giant's. I wasn't offered any exchange for my filling/crab cake.

Why cook? Sunday is 3 subs for 15 bucks at this location! We hit it up every so often and the food is always good. With the price increases over the last two years Sunday is definitely the only day I go. I suppose they took a customer hit when Jared went to prison....
