Things to do in Auburn
The sandwiches are pre-prepared or made to order. The deli area is to the right of the cashier, and they are very friendly about making a special order sandwich. The sandwiches are fresh daily. If you are in a rush and want lunch - This is the place.
Auburn has a big collection of fast food chains since the area caters heavily to the people traveling to Tahoe. There some small independents like Ikedas (burgers) and a few Mexican restaurants. Beach Hut Deli is also a chain but the quality is great, high end deli meats on both cold and hot sandwiches with cool names and inventive combinations. Jamaican/beach decor, very casual, plenty of seating, small patio seating area. The place was sparkling clean and the staff very friendly and patient (since there are ALOT of choices).Sandwiches average about $9.50 but they are extremely generous. I was very happy with the quality of the meal and will make this a regular stop on our way to Tahoe. Recommended.
Wow, the selection of sandwiches here is exquisite. They make their sandwiches huge and unique. I had my first sandwich with cream cheese here. My favorite one had buffalo sauce and they even have good beer here. I like sitting out on the little patio and watching the cars whiz by while I stuff my face with a delicious sandwich. It is a little pricey but I splurge or it as often as possible.

Max's Deli & Catering has been serving Placer County since 1993 specializing in sandwiches, soups & salads, Max's Deli is also known for its award-winning #07 The Brooklyn pastrami sandwich! Catering trays are available with as little a few hours notice i
Max's are set-up to get you in and out within you lunch hour! The salads and sandwiches are very tasty. The portions are generous, the prices are good. The line out the door is a testament to the quality but don't worry, the line usually moves fast and the orders filled quickly. If you're in a real hurry, ask Max how to sign-up and pay on-line and your order will be waiting when you get there. The parking can be a bit of a bear, especially noon to 1:00. I've also ordered for a group, in advance, for office lunch meetings with great success.

Visiting Sweetpea's is always a pleasant treat. Entertaining servers/helpers start the visit off with a smile. Breakfast is the specialty here and you won't be disappointed. The servings are bordering on huge and the quality is first rate. You really can't go wrong here, definitely worth a visit if you have not yet had the experience.

This was a good stop for diverse appetites. Eggs Benedict a dozen ways, croissant meals, burgers, scrambled and more. Plenty of parking and convenient off the interstate. Friendly staff made for a pleasant visit.
