Things to do in Holstebro
Det er ikke just gourmet, men solide vestjyske portioner a la carte, når man dukker uventet op - og ikke er badehotel gæst ... der er plads til forbedring - også hvad angår akustik ...især når serveringen er meget højlydt stemt - men alt i alt ... OK

For almost 30 years, Jensens Boefhus has been the setting for both large and small gatherings. Every year, more than 4 million people visit our restaurants in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. At Jensens Boefhus we love traditions. To many families and friends,
We had a nice diner, our first waitress could only speak danish but luckily we got another waitress who also spoke perfect english. The burger ps were good, one was not prepared as we asked for and they inmediately made a new fresh one. Nice and simple place to have a good and for danish standards affordable dinner.
The lunch menu was limited to a few dishes, which usually is a good sign since it could indicate that the kitchen will focus on some signature dishes. Our dishes were a bit mixed in quality and taste and although I am sure it was way better than the fast food options we saw in the area, the experience didn't leave more than an average impression. The atmosphere had a quite canteen feel to it - some tablecloths of some sort would have taken the 'hygge'-factor up a notch.

Pub with food options
A really good pub. Pubs are usually a bit pricey in Denmark, so the prices aren't the cheapest, but they've got a great selection of drinks. Can get Guinness on tap, so that's always good. They've got good snacks, haven't tried the meals though. It gets kind of loud and crazy after midnight though, so if you just want to have a few beers and chat, I suggest leaving a bit before that time.

We want to cultivate "EKTE" which means"authenticity" From the ground. From the sea. With our heart. And down to the leg. We think that good season right ingredients carry the taste itself. We just baked, braised, combined and served. No hocus-pocus. Just

I discovered this Kro (traditional Inn) by chance 4 months ago with a work colleague, so persuaded my husband to try it. The Kro is conveniently located for Hjerl Hede, the open air museum, and for walking around Stubbergård and Flyndersø lakes. It has a few different rooms that can be used for groups, small and large. The Kro offers traditional Danish food, freshly made: I had stjerneskud (very traditional fish dish) but the rødspætte (plaice) had not just come out of the deep freezer already breaded, it was freshly done with a home-made, light coating. My husband had the lunch platter with lovely pork and other delights including 2 unusual cheeses with caramelised figs. There was beer from Fur brewery. The only negative point was the price; 75 kr for a bottle of beer and 50kr for a tiny glass of white wine, and 505kr for 2 mains, drinks and coffee. However, we intend to go back again with a group next month.

Had a fine business dinner with a few colleagues on a quiet weekday night. The menu offered plenty of options, and everyone ate well. Nice wine list, though it could benefit from a few more options that were better priced. Staff were attentive and pleasant.

Three friends and I had lunch at this place. It's quite simple and nice inside, not much atmosphere, and the menu is slightly more adventurous than your average Danish cafe, most of which have identical menus. However, the two soups which my friends ordered were incredibly salty to the point of being inedible, which was a shame. My sandwich was very good, but way too much food for one person. It's certainly one of the better places in Holstebro to eat but steer clear of the soup!
