First of all recently Denmark became maybe even better then France as regards food. There are plenty of best restaurants e.g. Arhus where it is almost impossible to find bad restaurant. Also in Ebeltoft small city but placed close to ferry terminal there are few very good restaurants. Food in Strand Hotel restaurant was very good but too salty. Fish was very good fried but cook had a problem with salt. Everything was too salty in fact.Generally You should not be dissapointed visiting the restaurant - one of the biggest advantege is also location directly by the sea bay.

My wife and I had a lovely dinner here at "Støvelen". We had the choices between four tempting dishes. It tasted amazing. The personnel were also very friendly, and gave us the best service. The place was also cleen. We can recommend this place at the warmest.

Ok, I'm biased - Danes just don't do Christmas Dinner as well as we do in the UK. No,they don't. But I've also just had way better Jule Frokosts than this. The herring was fine, but the smoked salmon was tasteless. The chicken salad (?) was very nice, but everything else was just totally ordinary. Everything took so long as well that I didn't bother to stick around for dessert. The drinks selection is very strange too - they said they had "whatever your want", but they didn't have anything I asked for and didn't bring me what I eventually settled for either. Been hearing about this place and their brunches for years, but on the strength of this offering, I wouldn't be inclined to come back. Also, the staff were mostly pretty miserable.

Food is good, location is good. Service? Well, the male waiter was probably in a bad mood. Myself and the others at my table reacted when the waiter was argumentative and rude. Guess he caught on to it, he tried to repair the damage but mood was spoiled. Not what I expect when paying for a meal.Good food though, so go there and hope for one of the other waiters.

Try the âshooting starâ. A traditional danish dish. The cook does the steamed fish as I have never had before. It tastes great and almost like velvet in your mouth. The only reason it does not get the last star for a because the asparagus is from can and the shrimp not freshly made.

We had the "tasting menu" here and it was both unusual and delicious. We got to try a wide variety of meat, fish and vegetable dishes, washed down with a good bottle of wine, and while it wasn't cheap, it was top quality. The only downside was, all the tables are in a courtyard which is covered with a canvas roof. When we visited it was a cool and windy evening and we were pleased to be wearing jumpers and coats. They do provide blankets, which kept us nice and warm.

Came in for dinner on a sunday evening. No table reserved. We had salmon with spinach for starters and the cod for main. Interesting combinations of flavors. Popular spot. Portions are good and reasonable priced. Waitress was very attendative. Recommended.

Had champagne (Bollinger house champagne) and snacks (amuse bouche) and 8 courses with the premium wine menu. Food was fantastic, in particular the octopus and the pork with truffles. The wine was amazing, white burgundy was heavy weighted with some of the best producers and several grand crus. The waiters were very generous with the wine which was noticable after 8 courses. We left very satisfied, full and tipsy. Will return next year. Visited for 2016 as well which was good, 2017 was even better. I will be surprised if Molskroen does not receive a star for next year.

I live near by Ebeltoft GÃ¥rdbryggeri and during the opening season my wife and I, sometimes in company with family or friends, visit this great place. With a marvellous view and very good tasting home made beer. You can feel the passion for beer brewing from Brew Master Peter Zacho. From time to time you can visit the brewery and enjoy music events like Blues'n'Food with a nice glass of draft beer. Looking forward to 2018 :)

Came in for lunch and found a table inside. Sitting outside would have been great but there was no available tables in the shade. After we sat down I didnât see any menu but I saw other guests picking it up outside so I got out and found one too. All the staff was busy in the bar so after a while I got over there to order. Turned out they were just busy so I was sent back to the table. After maybe 10 minutes one of the waiters came and took our order. We had heard that the fish and chips were good so we tried that. While waiting for the food I saw the burgers ordered on the table next to us, and wondered if we had made the right choice. They looked great! When we finally got our food (I think it was a bit long to wait) it turned out to be great too. The fish was crusty, the fries was seasoned well and the salad was really good too. Is this the best place to eat in Ebeltoft? I donât know. If the staff were a little more attentive I would say that this is excellent, but for now the food was what made this a great place to eat.
