We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food we received at this restaurant located right under Katlstejn Castle and by the reasonable prices. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

The stylish fish restaurant with a friendly atmosphere, a capacity for 60 people, a pleasant bar, a fireplace, a lounge for 40 people, a summer terrace with views to the Berounka river. Possibility of banquets, social events, garden parties and barbecues,
It's always strange to read a review of a place you've visited after the fact and think to yourself "That cannot be the same place". We had a late lunch at Romanticky Restaurant Myln Karlstejn after visiting the Castle on the advice of our driver George, the setting is wonderful and the food we had was very nicely prepared and the wines were very good too. The service can be a tad slow but it never caused us any discomfort or concern. We shared salads, pates and then had deserts afterward and they were all very tasty and enjoyable, we either lucked out on the day or I have a vastly different opinion on what is good and what is not, this in my opinion was good.Dear customer, Thank you for visiting Grill Restaurant Mlyn Karlstejn and taking the time to share your positive experience on Tripadvisor. We are truly pleased to hear you've had a great time and enjoyed the restaurant's romantic setting as well as great food and wine. Thanks for your lovely words, we really appreciate it and are looking forward to the nearest opportunity to welcome you back. Kind Regards, Klara Dostalova Quality manager & Customer care

We stopped here on the way to Karlstejn Castle. The restaurant is like a large wooden chalet style building. The menu is extensive and the prices very reasonable. We enjoyed a lazy lunch with beer accompanied by steak, chicken and almonds, pork steak w Hungarian sausage and the spicy pork fillet. The side dishes were very large, and the Mexican beans, roasted veg & green beans are large enough To share. Our bill for 4 main courses & 2 rounds of beer was circa £40.One if the best quality and value meals during our week.

We are a family restaurant with unique atmosphere of an old tavern specializing in homemade traditional czech cuisine with main focus on game meals. In a shadow of one of the most well-known czech castle, Karlstejn, a house built in 15th century, at the t
Stunning, stunning, stunning! A warm welcome from the staff, a warm cosy feeling provided by a real open log fire. The food was first rate, and the prices are very reasonable. Home made lemonade flavoured to your choice with real fruit, mint etc. We visited on a quiet day so had the place to ourselves. Did not have to wait long for the food and it was superb.I would consider breaking my journey if I was passing through Karlstejn just to eat at this venue and then continue on my way. Even the walk from the railway station would be worth it !

Somebody reviewed this place with "the worst service in Czech Republic." This must be a very lucky person, or more likely one that has not had many opportunities to "enjoy" Czech service culture - in restaurants or anywhere else. Yes, the service here is off hand, impersonal, and sometimes rude. But that is completely normal in this country. I am Czech, but I have never understood, among other things, why some waiters, that are rushing around and no time for a newcomer (or they simply ignore him/her), get angry with a guest that finally decides to take a menu from a stack lying on the side. I saw it happen to a couple of guests there. The impersonal attitude and not giving the guest at least a nod that they have seen you when you try to attract their attention, belong among many sad habits in this country which improve generally only in restaurants run by foreign owners. The place would otherwise be quite pleasant and rustic, and the food is OK.

This hotel was a pleasure to stay at. The owner & wife were extremely helpful, the room was large and clean, with a really nice bathroom. Breakfast in their 'private' dining room was excellent, whilst evening dinner was taken outside, looking up at the castle, and was equally excellent.

Food was really good. Typical Czech food with a variety of choices. Location was great, right below the castle. Prices were very reasonable and food quality was good. There are lots of dining options below he castle. This one was very good.

Very nice decor with high ceilings and fancy table setting. Waitstaff very nice. For a. Michelin restaurant, I was a bit underwhelmed. The food is of a high standard. The scallops were done very nice and were fresh. The entrees disappointed, and that is why I can not give a rating of excellent. Th sea bass came with skin that was supposed to be crisp and edible. It was; however, crisp on the edges and soft everywhere else. Not enjoyable.

During nice sunny 1st November day we went to this restaurant and found place on terrace as which was ready set for customers. I went inside just to make sure that staff see us. Finally, they refused to serve us as restaurant was full inside even we asked just for soup which must be ready :-(. Staff was kind but didnât take a second to think ...
