I love Grecia, especially on Sunday afternoons when families relax in the central park and attend mass at the beautiful iron church. When it is time for cena though, it's time to go to El Maguey de Licho. We have always had large groups and the service has always been perfect. Anything on the menu is gourmet-meets-family-diner. To begin, the chips and bean dip is the best I've ever had--- just a little something extra in there. The beef tongue in sauce is amazing. While they didn't have it the last time I was there, the mondongo is priceless. You will enjoy large portions of delectable cuisine here. Don't miss the flautas---- they are too large for the plate! If heaven has an eatery, I hope it's El Maguey de Licho.
This restaurant is only open from Friday to Sunday! We went with family for dinner and had a great time - typical Costa Rican cuisine and wonderful atmosphere. Views of the entire Costa Rican Central Valley at night are the absolute best!!!!

Last Saturday I went here for breakfast with a friend. After we ordered a gentleman walked in carrying a guitar & music stand. After we ordered he started to play his guitar & sing. He was so loud I could not hear my friend at the same table. I went to Luisa, the manager and told her I came for good food & service. She just shrugged her shoulders. Today I saw the owner and told him I was offended and thought it was rude and the guitar player belonged in the park 25 meters away. His reply was he would think about it. For most Tico's this means I will do nothing. Although I like the staff and food I doubt I eat here very often instead of 3 times per week.

Team Walter ( the owner and chef ) serve up great foods....not just local stuff.Walter is a creative chef that likes to thrill his guests. The ribs are to die for....fish dishes are wonderful, and the Gordon Blue is done to perfection. Great side salad with an incredible dressing. Papa fritas are delicious as well.

Came here for dinner, not expecting much as this place has an outdoors setting which is quite dark and even a little bit gloomy in the evening. Ordered fish and was not disappointed: fresh, tasty and well executed. The waiter (maybe the owner?) was both efficient and caring, and he even took out a map to help us with directions on our way out. We ate out five or six times during our stay in Grecia and this was our best meal, for a very reasonable price to boot. A little hard to find, but really worth it!

I stopped for lunch yesterday and had Cordon Blue. As is normal it was excellent and also a large portion. I brought 1/2 of it home. Roy,Judith & Ronald gave me excellent service with smiles. The service level is like eating in the states. Additionally, I took a group of 11 people here last month and we were all very pleased with the food and the service was excellent. Friends who had not been here before are now customers.

We were visiting Costa Rica from Miami and pleasantly spent two days in Grecia. The owners of Yayaz Hotel (where we stayed at) highly recommended this restaurant to us and they were very assertive by giving us that advice. The food was extremely good and the waiter that took care of us last Sunday night was a real kind gentleman. His excellent service, great attention, and awesome professionalism are to be very highly commended. We also talked a little bit with the waitress that was taking care of another table and she was also very pleasant and friendly. Muchisimas gracias a los dos por su colaboracion y muy agradable actitud!Thank you very much for your visit and taking your time for writing on our space on TripAdvisor. Truly a pleasure being able to serve you.Glad our team took care of your orders with kindly and excellent service, and also that you enjoyed your meals.Hope to have you in during your next visit to Costa Rica! Pura vida!!!

Paper straws !! Yeah :) #protectouroceans #noplasticNice veggie choices, the falafel were a bit too dry and compact for my taste but this was well compensated with all the veggies in the pita. Hummus instead of yogurt minty sauce though. And my God, far too much salt with the fries. We came twice and the salt used is really an issue. Amazing service and honest prices.
