Venue - the restaurant is tiny, only 18 seats. They seem to do at least 2 sittings per table - which I imagine you have to in order to make a profit with such a small place. As such if you arrive early you will be left in the small vestibule until your table is ready as there is simply not room inside to wait.Menu - it is a set menu, 3 courses with 3 choices for each. Given the small number of tables this is logical. If you are fussy about things it might be best to go elsewhere. There is a sample menu on the website to give you an idea what may be served.Food - we though the food was excellent, great flavours and well cooked and presented. There have been comments about the portion size - I thought the were fine for a 3 course meal.Service - Good if a bit automatic. When we ate there were two other couples who arrived about the same time and we were all next to each other - so we heard the same word perfect statements on presentation and removal of each course 3 times. The food came at a reasonable pace - we did not feel rushed.Cost - it is not cheap, 48 pounds each plus drinks. However I didn’t think it was unreasonable for the quality.Parking - Some one mentioned the lack of parking - it is a tiny restaurant in the middle of a small village so you cannot expect parking by the door. There is free public parking 5 to 10 minutes walk away, or a taxi from any of the local B&Bs should be less than 5 pounds.

As we walked in to the establishment we were not greeted nor acknowledged by the one member of staff on the premises which left us standing, feeling lost. Do we sit down, do you order at the till? With no guidance from the waitress/cook we preceded to look at the menu that we could see, at the till. The waitress/cook finally took our order and we asked if we should sit down. She said "Oh, you're eating in?" and mentioned nothing of the fact that there was a separate menu (and prices) for dining in. There was in fact a sit-in menu which we were never shown or told of and we ended up paying +£8 more for sitting-in. We were very disappointed with the way we were treated. It had been easy for the waitress/cook to inform us of the different prices and yet she chose not to. As for the food, it is (if you're sitting in) at the same price point as many, more pleasant, establishments in Portree. The service was slow but this is understandable with only one member of staff. The portions were of a generous size, although the food (especially the fish and chips) was a little bland but fairly tasty indeed. The brownie was very good as well. The food it self deserves a higher rating, however, the service was a massive let down. Lastly, it made us uneasy seeing the waitress/cook sniffing the fresh (??) meat/fish before frying it. Making us doubt the freshness of the items.Good evening. Having looked at and selected from the headed takeaway menu, it is presupposed you are taking-away! You were welcomed to a table quickly following that and brought drinks etc. I continue to enjoy your oxymoron in the second paragraph 'a little bland but fairly tasty indeed'. Have you any awareness of food? Fresh gamey Isle of Skye venison smells great. And btw it's not fried, it's grilled! You enjoyed that and your fresh Highland fish and chips too. Check backs and empty plates don't lie. If you had any doubt about the quality here i doubt you would have selected a dessert to take away with you too! The only problem came when the prices were not what you wished for. I'm really sad for you that one of the things you had to do on Christmas Eve was lay into me. Your grammar is terrible, making us doubt your intelligence.

A restuarant on our must do list while on Skye. We were along in the Glendale area and Donda from Dunvegan Taxis brought us along and back. We went in to reception and sat down for a pre meal drink and some puffed crisp things and hubby ate the salmon and celeriac puree thing as I couldn't have it as I am vegetarian. We were then taken across the road to be seated at our table. There was also a chefs table in the kitchen. The dinner was either the a la carte dinner menu or the tasting menu with or without paired wines. We went for the paired wines and it was about £147 for me and £157 for hubby a tad expensive compared with other restuarants but worth it for the imaginative wines that accomponied the meal. Hubby had Scortched Dunvegan Langoustine, Dunvegan crab, Douglas fir & apple cured Sconser scallop, Duckfat confit West Ross salmon (his 3rd favourite(, Roasted Sconser Scallop (equal first favourite), Wild rabbit, Orbost Rose Beef ( equal first favourite), Pear tart and Edinbane Blueberries. I had Leek terrine ( nice very leek but the leeks were cold and meant to be which I didn't like), Cauliflower steak, Crispy croft egg ( my standout of the night with the salsify so so good), Globe artichoke, Salt baked celeriac ( no 2 of the night for me), Apple of the earth ( my third best), Beetroot risotto ( I hate beetroot but the golden beetroot and kale were lovely the risotto was sweet but too much for me ,y unusual and I loved the hubby finished it), pear tart and Edinbane blueberries. We couldn't managed anything else passed on the cheese but had a sneaky wee chocolate I had the white chocolate and limoncello hubby had the truffle and the honey chocolate. A fab meal wit fab service and a big thumbs up to the wine selector , they were very unusual and I loved the Gruner, the Cha'ar and the wacky Atavo.Thank you the Three Chimneys.Thankyou so much for making time to share your feedback and we are absolutely delighted you enjoyed our Tasting Menu.
