Reviews on Contemporary food in St. Augustine, Florida, United States. Saint Augustine is a luxurious, romantic vacation spot—you’ll find classic hotels and intimate restaurants. Those can be a dime a dozen, though. What sets Saint Augustine apart is its history—it’s the oldest European settlement in the U.S. And nowhere else in the world can you taste the waters of the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park (where Ponce de Leon may have landed). Who knows, if you vacation here, maybe you won’t need that Botox!

Stayed at embassy suites across street and noticed hotel restaurant was totally empty, so walked across street. Place was full of patrons, but we were seated right away. Food was good, not great. Drinks we ordered were sub par... Dirty martini and cloyingly sweet bay breeze. And while billed as beach front, this place is across street from beach, with peek a boo views of water across street, even on upper level. Nice live music, though. Salt Life Food Shack believes in total guest satisfaction and we work hard to achieve that goal. If there is ever an area of concern, please bring it to the attention of a manager and they will do all they can to elevate your dining experience. Some of our award winning signature dishes such as our Caliche's Poke Bowl and Shack Fish. The Poke Bowl includes; fresh tuna seasoned with Caliche's secret marinade, served with steamed spinach over sticky rice, finished with diced avocados, green onions and sesame seeds. Our Shack Fish is fresh and locally caught and prepared three different ways. The Rainforest is a fan favorite (wood-grilled local catch of the day finished with our signature salsa verde and julienned vegetables served on top of a warm black bean orzo and plantains). Other favorites include our Lobster and Shrimp Pasta (sautéed Maine lobster and shrimp tossed in a creamy sun dried tomato sauce topped with parmesan and green onions) and Shrimp Brochette (large shrimp wrapped in applewood-smoked bacon, grilled with pineapples and brushed with Hawaiian teriyaki glaze, served with tropical fried rice and garnished with sesame seeds). We truly appreciate your business and hope to see you again soon!

Been wanting to try for a while. Felt like I stepped back in time upon entrance. Unique casual nautical atmosphere. Sat in cozy booth for 2 near bathroom. EXCELLENT garlic bread, salads w/homemade ranch (I wanted to lick my plate) and good wine. Hubby got spaghetti and meatballs=delicious. My salmon meal was very good but I would order something else maybe like scallops carbonara next time. Good prices. Needed some background music as you could hear a pin drop! Will return!

Created after the California Wine Bar trend back in 2008, our quaint family owned and operated restaurant serves St. Augustineâs only Urban Cuisine in a casual upscale environment. We started out as a cozy wine bar serving tapas to compliment the wine fea
We loved the street it's located on. They have tables on the sidewalk/outside or inside where it's nice and cozy. The establishment is friendly and service is above par. We loved our drinks which are both interesting and delicious. The appetizers we tasted were excellent, the brie and the spicy egg rolls, I believe. We enjoyed both nights and the atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. Five star experience both times so consistent.

Innovative Southern Cuisine prepared with locally and sustainably produced ingredients. New location at 72 Spanish St.
I always tell people to get off the main street and the Floridian is a good reason to. Nice atmosphere, outside seating and inside plenty of interesting old FL memorabilia to look at. Service was OK, I felt like our server may have been having a bad day, just seemed extremely short with us. We were there at lunch on a Tues and it was obvious that locals come here for lunch. My BLT with fried green tomato sandwich was very good, the last bites a little soggy..my fault I should have flipped it over. Husband's meat loaf sandwich....meatloaf was moist and flavorful, bread was amazing...and it was huge, enough for 2 or a very hungry person. Overall a pleasant experience, would return.

La Cocina International Restaurant offers intimate Fine Dining with a Latin Flair in a Casual Atmosphere
Had breakfast two mornings while staying at the hotel. While service is a bit slow (only 1 server) the food was excellent. The omelets were really flavorful and fresh and fluffy and the bacon perfectly crispy. The pancakes were light and airy, and they didn't bat an eye when having to redo them for my fussy son. The breakfast sandwich was tasty and fresh. The blueberry crepes good but a bit small for the likes of my teenager. Overall a great value and I would very much recommend (even though it is in a hotel restaurant)

A friend told us about Back 40, glad he did. Probably the best salsa I've ever had. Everything is fresh. The service was fantastic. Great vibe. I can't wait to go back.
