Enjoyed a pleasant lunch with family here. Steak and chips was good- their medium done was a tad rare in the middle. Service was friendly but not always prompt. Relaxed atmosphere to chat with family.

A restaurant emphasizing local and organic ingredients, knowing their suppliers, and basing their menus on seasonal items. By far the most ambitious restaurant in Porvoo.
Chose 4-course menu plus the wine package. Excellent flavours throughout the menu, only the cheese plate was a slight disappointment, since it was presented in plural, but cheese-wise included only a piece of brie. The wines were well chosen. Having said that, the wine package is quite pricey and even though when ordering, it was described to have four glasses of 10 cl, in practice they served 6-8 cl. Quite enough wine-wise, but increases the price still. All in all, a very nice dinner.

We stopped here for lunch on a visit to Porvoo. The restaurant is located along the river... with both indoor and outdoor dining options. The menu seems dominated by a Finnish-Japanese fusion theme... and it works. Al three of us were pleased with our options. My salad was traditional European, accented with Japanese touches... and topped with a moist, flavorful chicken breast. The other two in our party went with beef... and both were happy with their choices.Overall, we enjoyed a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere, but paid no more than we would have anywhere else. Bottom line: Ranta-Aitta was a win.Thank you Malcom! We are glad you enjoyed your visit and our food. Hope to see you soon back in Porvoo and Ranta-Aitta restaurant.
