Had heard great things about this place but extremely disappointing. Service was very good though. I had the paper bag fish it was terrible, no flavour at all. I would have complained but we were were guests and it was embarassing. Looked forward to the famous donuts that were so dry and disappointing. The lamingtons were also the same. Would not return. Its not an exactly cheap meal but not sure what has happened here but they need to sort their meals out.

We were given a grab one for this restaurant and what a treat it was, they went out of their way for our group. The set menu that we were given for the Grab one was outstanding, from Seafood Cocktail for starters to Pork Belly for Main and then followed by a delicious dessert of Sticky Date. Could not fault the meal or service, thoroughly recommend this Restaurant.

Had a quick stop and snack meal here while in Napier recently. Would like to review for Tripadvisor
We usually stay over at the Crown Hotel when in Napier, and so this is just across the road. It's a really convenient stop for a light bite, or some Rush Monroe ice cream, or a coffee or a hot chocolate. The cabinet always has a good selection of things on offer, including mini-quiches, slices of pie, sandwiches etc., and the staff are always friendly.

I know there's mixed reviews on this place, but I couldn't see anything recent so wanted to share our very enjoyable experience. I was actually a little trepidacious about going because of some previous reviews...but there was a Groupon voucher and I also love a deal. I'm so glad we went with this place. It has a nice view of the foreshore, friendly staff, a quiet atmosphere and best of all, excellent food. My mother and I both ordered the pork belly which was utterly delicious, exactly what you hope it will be when you order that dish. I also tried a very interesting and tasty blue cheese ice cream and pear dish for dessert which was a new one for me. It was delicious, and Mum was very happy with her creme brulee. Overall it was a really nice, quiet and delicious meal, which was just what we needed after a very full on day!
