This is what a great dining experience should be !!! I agree completely with the other reviewers, Henrietta Red is one of the best restaurants in Nashville. Food and service.We had a nice table and the best server Teddy T. He was so nice and welcoming and really knew how to provide great service. It is so nice to find someone who is passionate about their job. My husband had questions about the oysters and he went and checked to be sure my husband got the type with the flavors he wanted. I had a delicious lump crab salad, fresh and very tasty. We both had the grouper, cooked to perfection, moist, well seasoned and nicely portioned. We also had an order of their wood fired bread that we enjoyed. For dessert I wanted the coconut cake, but without one of the toppings. Teddy gladly went to talk to the pastry chef who said she could do it. I also wanted the sherbet in a separate dish for my husband and Teddy was glad to do that too. It is so nice to find a restaurant with not only good food but great servers who actually are happy you are there and want to make sure you are having a wonderful time. Isn't that why we all go out?

Great place. Delicious cheese board. Ribeye was perfectly prepared and abundant in size. Potatoes filled with butter and yummy. Vegetarian options for my wife--brussel sprouts, asparagus, quinoa. First time at Josephine and we were very happy with our experience. As it is located in the 12 South area, there are a lot of interesting people to see in addition to excellent places, like Josephine, to eat. One comment at the beginning, the plates are smaller, European sized portions. My wife and I shared several dishes, but the smaller size limited sharing to some degree. We, however, really like to smaller portions which eliminate the food waste that goes on in the country.We shared beef tongue as an appetizer, heirloom tomato bruschetta as a salad, mushroom fettuccine as a main course and the peach cobbler with ice cream as a dessert. The best of the main dishes was the fettuccine, with the beef tongue not to our liking. The most wonderful part was the peach cobbler. Made in house, flakey crust, warm peaches and scrumptious vanilla ice cream. It was one of the best desserts we have had in Nashville.Very good place. And quite different from more typical Nashville fare.

Nice little cafe, service was quick, not noticeably friendly, but thats fine. The food tasted good but nothing super spectacular. The sauce was a little watered down, not a whole lot pf flavor. Not many lunch specials/pricing offered, but they got me in and out in the time i needed.

Now, I'm annoyed. Let me be clear--we dined last night and overall, had wonderful service and food. However, we had a snafu when we checked in for our reservation and another at the bar. That was resolved by the time we went to the dining room (or so I thought) and we had a lovely and enjoyable dinner (kudos to Lori who took great care of us). I returned home today to find they reported my reservation (which we showed up for on time and did dine!) as canceled to Open Table. This is just infuriating given our initial encounter and the money spent. This is an absolutely beautiful and elegant setting and dining experience but these other "hiccups" have left a slight after taste for us as a result of this latest wrinkle. With all the dining options in Nashville, I expected better. On another note, the chocolate espresso tarte is exceptional.Dear Mrs HOdges,Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us. While I am very happy to hear Lori helped provide excellent service and the dining experience itself was lovely, I am saddened to hear about the service-related hiccups. We stumbled across the Cafe while exploring and while it was full we waited for 10 minutes or so for a table. There is a small bar and low ceiling a somewhat cosy dining space. There are tablecloths and nice napkins. The staff were friendly and attentive. the meatloaf was enormous but there were dishes you could have had that were lighter, like the avocado on toast.Good place for lunch.Thanks for your gracious thoughts on your lunch with us recently! My mom and I recently dined at Etch, and it was such a great experience. After reading the menu, I was a bit nervous because the dishes combine a lot of flavor profiles and include many, many ingredients. I took a chance and got the venison and it was SO delicious!
