My wife and I treated ourselves to Kamimura for her birthday. The entire experience was superb, from the moment Jack greeted us at the entrance and guided us to our table, chatting charmingly. Wiggy served us, with the right balance of engagement and stay-back. Her description of the complex combinations of ingredients were superb. We went for the wine pairings with the set course, and the sommelier was really great. She had picked very interesting wines, some Japanese ones (watch out for J-wines, they will be great in 10 years). We loved it. The entire restaurant joined my jovially when I burst out into song (happy birthday), as Wiggy set down desert, with a sparkling candle set into the ice cream. Kamimura himself came to say hello at the end, he was charming and deservingly proud of his âproductâ, including his team that delivers the service. Great night

What a wonderful surprise to have one of our meals in a family-owned cafe out in Chirabetsu, Hokkaido, almost in the middle of nowhere, but with great views of Ezo Mt Fuji (Mt. Yotei) as well as delicious food!Knowing that we wanted to explore the backroads of Hokkaido, our local guide searched the internet for locally recommended place like this. It's a quaint and cozy little home, owned by a Japanese couple who runs the restaurant themselves. It is actually an active home, and they live on the 2nd floor :-) Small tables of 4-6 were set up on the 1st floor. We were a group of 16 in the family and we had the place to ourselves :-)The menu was amazing! Started off with home made bread and Hokkaido butter, hot miso soup, cold sesame tofu for appetizer, grilled salmon with enoki mushrooms kept hot on a foil pouch, with a side of fresh colorful veggies, pumpkin and potato topped with Japanese dressing made of mayo with fish/shrimp roe. Foreigners who may not get used to the more traditional Japanese food will like this, since it's prepared a bit western style but using Japanese flavors. On the side, coffee, tea, rice, bread, and other condiments were available for self service.The view was equally amazing! Fresh powder snow on a large field and Ezo Mt. Fuji in the background.The home also hosts a very beautiful owl believed to bring good luck and happiness. Owl is fu-kuro in Japanese, which means "no troubles". The decor was quite interesting and with great taste, using a mix of country style with some hints of Disney and Japanese characters. Kind of East meets West concept.The Japanese couple was really nice. The wife spoke a bit of English and told us a little bit about their home. Upon leaving, the lovely Japanese couple came out, gave us a respectable bow and bade us goodbye, and gave us each a candy cane as a souvenir :-)If you're driving from Sapporo to one of the ski resorts in the area such as Rusutsu, stop by this place for an amazing lunch with friends. It's a bit remote so you'll either need to drive or have transport available for you. Doesn't matter if you are looking for GOOD woodfired pizza, just a sneaky sandwich, or an AMAZING coffee, White Rock is the place for it. Never been disappointed by the food or coffee, in addition all their pastries are desserts are just delicious. The staff are super friendly to boot!

Itâs a good restaurant and with affordable prices. It is near Kutchan station about 8min walk. Drink special is great with 1500 JPY you can have unlimited drinks. And there are more specials to choose from. Restaurant environment is warm and cozy and food taste great.Mix of Chinese, Japanese, Italian there is a bit for everyone. This place is good for groups and couples. Only reason why I have this restaurant 4 is I think service can be improved, staff are great but they get frantic and forget things if foreigner walks in. And they are quiet young so they need a little seriousness but the service was good. Just picking on small things I observed. I have already been to this restaurant twice and I would definitely go again. Smoking area is outside the restaurant which is great.

We did an impromptu visit for dinner and they picked us up at our hotel and we had an amazing dinner. As heavy snow fell outside they carved roast beef, delivered French inspired Japanese delicacies and were so eager to please. The wine list was great and not unreasonable. The architecture is so on point and little touches like the wallpaper and candles in the snow wall outside make it a memorable restaurant. But itâs the staff that are 10/10. Brilliant night. Thank you very much for coming and also thanks for the positive comments. We are glad that you enjoyed the dinner.
