Find out what Contemporary restaurants to try in Columbia. Columbia is a census-designated place in Howard County, Maryland, United States, and is one of the principal cities of the Baltimore metropolitan area. It is a planned community consisting of 10 self-contained villages. It began with the idea that a city could enhance its residents' quality of life. Creator and developer James W. Rouse saw the new community in terms of human values, rather than merely economics and engineering. Opened in 1967, Columbia was intended to not only eliminate the inconveniences of then-current subdivision design, but also eliminate racial, religious, and class segregation.

I call Iron Bridge Wine company a hidden gem because of how it's tucked on the far side of Ellicott City MD. First of all, this restaurant is sort of nestled in a semi-residential area - way off the mainstream. If you don't know it's there you'd literally drive past it. However, once you discover this gem of a restaurant, it will quickly become one of your faves. Not only do we go there for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and days like mother's and Father's Day, we also just pop on occasionally to have a glass of wine and an appetizer at the bar. Iron Bridge is a wine bar first. They have literally hundreds of bottles of wine available for you to pick from; Whatever your drinking pleasure, they've got it. Next comes the food. Let me just say that I've never been disappointed by anything I've eaten at Iron Bridge. Go to meals include the scallops, mussels and then there is the pork belly appetizer. The pork belly will be on my last supper meal menu for sure. Except for the dishes I mentioned, entrees on the menu changes all the time based on the head chef's whimsy; not a bad thing at all as he's usually spot on. A word of caution though, make a reservation before you go. This place, even the bar, fills up quickly and patrons don't like to leave because it's such a fun place. Regardless of the day of the week, make a reservation or you may miss out on an amazing dining experience.Dear Destination Life, We are so grateful for your review! Our first time here. Food was cooked as ordered and tasted great. Nice architecture and atmosphere. Service started off good, but quickly fizzled. He walked by our table several times ignoring our empty glasses. Had an issue with the bill in which he admitted was his mistake. He went away and returned in about 10 minutes, only to say he forgot to fix the error. Maybe we'll have better luck next time with a different server.Thank you for the blissful feedback. We're charmed to hear that you had a good time with us. We are excited to see that you loved your meals and found everything so delicious and full of flavor. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We hope to see you again soon!

Crepes and waffles ,sandwiches Coffee and special drinks like smoothies, bubble tea Breakfast and brunch
Enjoyed a late lunch here in this moderately priced cafe. This is a small place in an open air shopping mall, serving breakfast and lunch. There are many varieties of both sweet and savory crepes- the savory crepes can be obtained as sandwiches too. Service was fast - no one else around, probably was because we were in the cafe on a rainy Thursday within an hour of closing. Reasonable value- good quality ingredients. Around $8 or $9 for a crepe .
