This is our go to eatery in the area. Yesterday I had the "small plate" or fried oysters over spinach and parmesan cream. Probably the largest oysters I've ever seen! Perfectly fried. I didn't count them, but imagine there were a dozen as I had to leave four! The Spinach and parmesan cream with nothing but a smear on the plate as a bit of flavor, but who cared?

Carolina Brewery provides food and beverage in the Chapel Hill and Pittsboro, NC area
Our family of 4 had dinner and drinks on a recent evening. I wish we only had drinks and had gone elsewhere for dinner. Carolina's beer is very good. We had several varieties and they were solid across the board. Their brown is my favorite. Unfortunately their food is just not good. I had the Carolina Cuban which has ham, bacon and pulled pork. You couldn't taste the bacon and I'm not even sure it was there. The pulled pork was just mush and had no texture which made the entire sandwich so unappetizing. Even my daughter's Mac & Cheese off the kids menu was bad. It was obviously just a box of Kraft, nothing homemade, and even that was made poorly as it was all dried out. My daughter wouldn't eat it saying it was gross. Who messes up a box of Mac & Cheese? Great place to go have a beer before or after dinner but leave it at that. I will also mention that the service is very hit or miss depending on the server you get, but I suppose that is typical of a place staffed by college students. Our server was slow and generally uninterested in helping us. Any question about beer was met with the response "I don't know, I'm only 20". My wife tried to order a seasonal special and was told that they may be out, but with no offer to find out if they were actually out or not. Any question about food was met with response "I don't know, I've never had it". Obviously a good server should have a general knowledge of the food and drinks (especially at a brewery!) even if they don't eat or drink it themselves. We watched another server handling other tables that obviously got it. Very personable and helpful, discussing at length the different beers on tap.

The place was hopping when I went there a few days ago for dinner. Seemed like all of the rich and famous from the Triangle area were there to celebrate the arrival of a new restaurant (the crowd looked very wasp-y to me). The place has a nice atmosphere, excellent service and, for now, superb food. I had the fried olives appetizer, the heirloom tomato salad first course and a pork dish (also from the first course list). All were superb. This chef is excellent and this could end up being one of the star restaurants of the Triangle if he or she stays (rumor is that the chef is a protege of the legendary Bob and Karen Barker of the Magnolia grill)The place was packed and the atmosphere was great. Everyone seemed happy to be eating superb food in the hot new restaurant.Thank you for the stellar review! No worries, the chef isn't going anywhere.

We eat lunch at Linda's every other Tuesday in order to get their pot roast special. The food is excellent! The staff is also friendly and the service great. I highly recommend Linda's for an excellent lunch, meeting friends for drinks and dinner or for a night of drinking.
