Beautiful warm evening, so sat outside. Very friendly waitress. We both ordered steaks, different, and were very rare when delivered, but no problem the waitress took them back and had them cooked to our liking. Very tasty. The Sangria here is the best we had in all of Portugal. They were quite busy, but we never felt rushed. A pleasant evening meal, with good ambiance.

Located in Casteleiro, very close to the Serra da Estrela and next to one of the most beautiful historical villages of Portugal, Sortelha, the Casa da Esquila is a privileged space for Food, Wine, and other sins...Based on the concept Rural Gourmet, the o
This was truly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had! The restaurant overlooks the beautiful, quaint town of Casteleiro. The staff and Chef Rui Cerveira were extremely attentive and accomodating. We had the choice of ordering from the menu or being surprised with ChefCerveira's 8 course recommendation with wine pairings and palate cleansers. We chose the latter and were not in the least dissappointed. The presentation was beautiful! The food was absolutely outstanding! The food is grown on site and they have their own vineyards. We cannot wait to go back next year!!! Truly a little gem! Don't miss it

Fully wheelchair accessible - that immediately makes this restaurant a gem for rural Portugal. We went in their first week in business after renovations, and couldn't be more impressed. Our server, Pablo, was just fantastic. Everyone was also very tolerant of the slightly awkward 6-year old who was up past his bedtime. We had two sharer platters between 5 to start, which we cleared happily. My partner and I then had the bacalhau. One person had the mushroom risotto, one had soup and salad, and one had roast lamb. The lamb, in particular, was outstanding. For the 6-year-old, we ordered the pasta from the kid's menu, which the adults ended up finishing between them because it was so good. We also loved our desserts - a chocolate mousse, something similar to creme caramel, and a platter of miniature desserts which included an extremely sweet cake soaked in syrup, which was fab.We loved the atmosphere, and views, and the fantastic service. It's on the expensive side for Portugal, but great as a one-off treat.Thank you very much for evaluating us. We are happy to meet the expectations of the whole family. The cake soaked in syrup is the famous Portuguese dessert that gives name to our restaurant: Papo d'Anjo. Welcome always!

No Restaurante Quinta da Amoreira, preparamos para si um menu especial com as melhores carnes, onde destacamos as suculentas e saborosas Carnes Maturadas. Esta é a nossa especialidade, única nesta região da Serra da Estrela.
We stayed at the pousada da serra da Estrella and because the restaurant's quality we looked for something good and special. We found this really good looking restaurant from the outside and we knew that we had to go in.They have some great dry aged meat that you have abolutelly to taste. The ingredients and the sides are very locally and a great Portuguese cuisine experience.I give it a 5 out of 5!!!!Will come back for sure

In the middle of an "Aldeia de Xisto", in Janeiro the Cima, you can find Fiado. The restaurant is a beautiful open space and the food is quite traditional and tasty. I would skip the main dish and just enjoy the starters and the dessert.Thank you very much for your kind words! We hope to see you again soon.Best regards
