We came here for a relaxed Sunday lunch with friends and found La Locanda di Sant' Agata to be a simple jewel in this quiet part of Emilia-Romagna. The menu and wine list both had interesting versions of familiar classics: the pasta was fresh, transparent and excellent; the grilled items came exactly as ordered and were fairly priced; several interesting Lambruscos and other local wines were on offer up against some recognisable national symbols. Service was very accommodating and we had to make room for the charming desserts - as good on the eye as they were for the palate. If you're in the area I'd recommend a visit. If you're not, I'd recommend you come anyway!

It pains me to give this review. After pulling up 2 computers and a cell phone and waiting in a que for 6 hours, we finally scored a table for 2 in September to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We planned our whole trip around this one meal. Perhaps our expectations were too high, especially following Chefâs Table and other food porn programs. Maybe it was because Chef Massimo wasnât there and the staff is not as âonâ as when he is around. We donât know. What we did find was a very stiff staff. There was no interest in us as patrons, no outside conversation just rushed through, often unintelligible, descriptions of each dish. And as we had the tasting menu, so that happened over 12 times. We also chose the wine pairings and found a heavy on the sweet white wine selection and we had to double up 3 times! For the price of the pairings, more than many meals alone, we found that pretty shocking. The food itself was very good, but not mind blowing. There was nothing that transported us in the the mind and world of Chef, nothing that gave us pause as something extraordinary. We had a better meal all around, at a small restaurant in Parma. (La Filoma) And finally I will be selfish and bitter, there was no acknowledgement of our anniversary even though I noted that in my reservation and no one asked at the restaurant. Petty for sure, but for the cost, time and effort to get there, we were sorely disappointed. If the food hadnât been as good, I would have given it a 2 star rating.

L'Erba del Re offers you a different food experience, in the middle town. Our menu is about tasty creative food and traditional dishes. You can enjoy dishes dedicated to meat or fish, choosing à la carte or from our tasting menus. Our commitment is to off
The restaurant is located in the old town in an old building. The distribution into differ the rooms makes for a cosy atmosphere. The decoration is minimalist with taste and great care for every detail, the tableware is beautiful. In this agreeable atmosphere you get a quality of food which fully justifies the one star rating of the Michelin guide. The menu is attractive. The cuisine is creative, sometimes even quite audacious but never too much. I had a dessert with salt mint granita which I found very appealing. The main dish, kidneys, was impeccable. Service is attentive and efficient too. This is a place to be remembered for the next visit in this town!
