West Caldwell is a township located in the West Essex area in northwestern Essex County, New Jersey. It is located approximately 16 miles (26 km) west of Manhattan and 6 miles (9.7 km) northwest of Newark. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 10,759, reflecting a decline of 474 (-4.2%) from the 11,233 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 811 (+7.8%) from the 10,422 counted in the 1990 Census.

Enjoyable atmosphere with attentive service. Wide selection of Chinese and Japanese options. Portion sizes are ample; the cold sesame noodle appetizer was quite tasty and could have been a meal in itself. Good basic dumplings and bean cake wedges. Tofu home style entree was equally generous in size, though not as flavorful.

This little Chinese restaurant/take out place has been on the street for a while, it's good and fresh. When my parents came to visit me, they always to there to order food, which they think one of the most acceptable Chinese food in the US.

Come to Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant for delicious fast food. There is sitting for 10 in-restaurant. The staff are talented and can prepare the standard fare or a specialty item - just give them your requests and it will be made for you quickly and with fresh tastes.The menu is extensive and has all of the standard favorites. Prices are fair and spicing is made to order. No MSG is used and all ingredients are fresh.The restaurant is clean and well lit. They close at 10pm, which is about right for most folks. You can watch long noodles being rolled out by hand. Kids seemed to get a big kick out of this and even get a piece of dough to try it too.Noodles in big bowls of rich beef and chicken soup, saute'd noodles, beef, chicken, pork, lamb, duck and vegetarian. Entrees are generous, appetizers are tasty and soup bowls are huge, think a big bowl of Pho. You get a pair of scissors to cut your noodles!If you like your chicken, beef, duck without any skin or fat, this place is not for you. The skin, fat, bones and muscles all add to depth and richness of the stocks, soups and sauces. Shan Shan is not an Americanized Chinese restaurant. Our friends enjoyed it, my wife won't go back and I would be more cautious if I did.
