Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant is a little spot with a lot of flavor. Service was prompt and attentive, and the dining room was clean and bright. I ordered the Rice Bowl, which had cabbage, carrots, snow peas, noodles and rice served with a veggie patty and a flavorful sauce. The portion size was ample and the flavor combination was delicious. My dining companion enjoyed her order of the Ma Po Tofu and Rice. Our meals came with bowls of Miso Soup, which we both found tasty. Prices were reasonable, and parking was convenient. Recommended!

The restaurant literally does not appear to welcome foot trafic or eat-in customers ... they offer fast, free delivery of an extensive menu. We order from them once per week, and several others in our office do the same -- you can always count on the food to be hot and delicious. I like the Chicken in Garlic Sauce (#22) lunch special for $6.75.

We have ordered takeout from here several times. The food is always delicious, plentiful, and--judging by the Chinese-language signs advertising their specials and the amount of Chinese spoken by the clientele--at least some of their offerings are authentic. We had the spare ribs, spring rolls, steamed dumplings, and pungent and spicy beef tripe appetizers, and the moo goo gai pan, moo shi pork, Buddhist vegetables, and sauteed spinach with garlic entrees, and everything was good enough to order again. The price for everything was $88, with enough leftovers for at least another meal. The staff tends to be overly optimistic about when the food will be ready for pickup, though. At least at busy times, "ready in 20 minutes" actually means "ready in an hour." They also forgot our egg drop soup, so check your order.

With Wu's garden shutting its doors in 2013, my parents have looked for a replacement in the Vienna area. They chose this restaurant as their new favorite. We ordered from Peking Express for pickup although they offer delivery and have a few tables on site.Over all, food was very good. We had both steam and fried dumplings along with crab rangoon. All were very good. We also liked both the orange chicken and sweet and sour shrimp. We tried the Crispy beef and it was very well cooked, my wife liked it but it was too well done for me (it may have been designed that way). And finally, the hot and sour soup was much more spicy than the times they ordered it in the past, so my parents were surprised.Service was good. Our order was waiting for us as promised and was taken correctly.Over all, four balloons. We would go back there again.
This is one of those restaurants serving American Chinese food with the offerings displayed in photos above the counter. The dining room is plain. It's really a fast food restaurant with low prices and a standard, limited menu selection. Meals with drink will cost $10 or less here. The food is satisfying and tastes good but it is nothing special. So if that's what you want the New China King will be suitable.
