By far, the best Chinese takeout in the area. Their lunch "specials" are an outstanding value: more than you really should eat. The food is tasty, the menu comprehensive, and the service prompt and efficient. Definitely not an "eat in" restaurant: the place is shabby with stained ceiling tiles, worn floor tiles and faded stock pictures of the menu items. I really wish the chef-owner would dress a bit more like a chef. The sight of him in his short pants, sleeveless T-shirt sweating over the wok does not do much to stimulate the appetite.

Unexpectedly found Baumgarts on way to concert at Bergenfield Performing Arts Center. We were in the mood for Chinese, but this restaurant also offers a good selection of other meals. Great, old-time ('40s or '50s) diner/restaurant architecture inside. You can imagine a young Frank Sinatra taking a date to this place on a Saturday night. It probably hasn't changed much since then. I had lo-mein noodles with vegetables - very good. Friend had sweet and sour chicken - (a little too sweet). And prices were reasonable. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be sure to visit again.

They make tofu-based chicken, beef, fish dishes, all well-made. Good noodle and soup dishes. Well-priced. A local watering-hole, often crowded.

Stopped in for lunch and they were closing so I went back a few days later.. Sushi was average. Nothing outstanding.. Was really disappointed.. Service is ok.. But sushi wasn't really fresh. Would not go back.. Umeya is way better.. totally about 20 notches up from here...

Have visited this place for food religiously once a week for probably 5 years. The people are friendly and the food is AWESOME!! BEST IN THE AREA!!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

I live in Tenafly and have been eating at Mr Wok for years. We have always found the food to our liking. In addition, service is very nice and since I have Celiac Disease (controlled completely by a Gluten Free diet, I very much appreciate that many dishes can be prepared Gluten Free.

We have lived in Bergenfield for over two years now, and have simply exhausted options for Chinese food. For a while, we were hooked on Chinatown Kitchen in Teaneck across from Peck Peck, but it was taking longer and longer for deliveries, and we quietly starting looking elsewhere.Enter i-Fish.Taking up residence in the Friendly's building in Tenafly, they are simply the bomb.Eddie and Karen are lovely owners, and they stand by their kitchen.We have tried everything on the menu and there are no hiccups anywhere.Lo Mein, Casseroles, Appies, those ridiculous Shrimp with Walnut Sauce (oh god), dim sum, specialities, you just can't go wrong.Oddly, we haven't had a chance to visit the restaurant -- we have only done once or twice weekly deliveries - and if I can tell you their delivered food is hot, fast, and fabulous, believe me.I almost hesitated writing a review, because that usually means an uptick in business, but these people deserve to be noticed, visited, and loved.Go.
