This is our first time in Haidilao restaurant. Saw many in China but they look exclusive and expensive, so had not tried it. In California with so many competitive hotpot restaurants of different styles, Haidilao with its higher class environment, service and food quality, is actually attractive for occasional splurges, relaxing and not rushed. We came here for lunch and it is not crowded. Individual pots and own selection of broth (so many choices). I had the coconut chicken broth, costing a few dollars more. Tasty but slightly too sweet, probably because for one person, it is too strong. All the meat, dumplings, veggies, tofu etc are all very fresh and good. The special dumplings with caviar inside are unusual and interesting. We ordered too much. Costing about $50 pp including good tips and beer. Could have been less expensive if we ordered less. But still worth the leisurely two hours.

I love this place. Actually had my kids take me here for my birthday. I had been going there for lunch for decades, but never for dinner till this month. Lunch has always been a very inexpensive one trip-to-the-trough affair, including soup, drink, rice, some kind of wonderful pita, and salad. Dinner is the same, but for a bit more money, you can have as much as you want. I load up on all the meats, then pile the veggies on. By the time I get to all the sauces and oils, I can hardly wait to make some wonderful concoction. Sometimes I put the curry sauce, sometimes, wine, always load up on the garlic and ginger. My only disappointment last time was that they'd run out of cilantro. I'll be sure to call next time to check on that, because I won't go again if they don't have cilantro.

Really good dimsum HongKong style, very consistent, nice people, good selection. Very crowded, get there early, big Chinese clientele so you can't go wrong...
Not your usual Panda Express. Better decor and the staff even knew what the products were. The Chefs Special shrimp dish was outstanding. I especially enjoyed the Panda burrito, I had never seen such a thing. They fill a large pancake, burrito skin, with your selections. I enjoyed the topping, included French fried onions and a variety of sauces,There are tea drinks available. I ordered with my food. Unfortunately I did not see the Tea Bar until after I ordered. They offer a variety of drinks and will add boba to the drinks. There were 5 or more Panda executives checking out the operation, display boards, etc. I was told this is where they test new concepts for the Panda stores.Overall, very good.

An unpretentious building but nice inside. A very typical Chinese restaurant with classical decorations & art. The waiter was formal but nice. You could tell he took great pride in what he does. We had the slippery shrimp, orange chicken & wanton soup. The soup was under done and the wontons were also under cooked and heavy. But everything else was good.
