Sibu /ˈsibuː/ (simplified Chinese: 诗巫; traditional Chinese: 詩巫; pinyin: Shīwū) is an inland town at the central region of Sarawak and the capital of Sibu District in Sibu Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. The town is located on the island of Borneo. The town covers an area of 129.5 square kilometres (50.0 sq mi). It is located at the confluence of the Rajang and Igan Rivers, some 60 kilometres from the South China Sea and approximately 191.5 kilometres (119 mi) north-east of the state capital Kuching. Sibu is mainly populated by the Chinese especially the Fuzhou Chinese ethnicity. Other local ethnic indigenous groups such Melanau, Malay, and Iban are also present, but unlike other regions of Sarawak, they are not as significant. The town population as of the year 2010 is 162,676.

In Sibu, everywhere you can find kampua, however, not every place you can Traditional foochow lor mee(å¤é¢) - RM5. Sadly even I am local, I somehow never know Sibu have lor mee until recently. My family seems never a fan so we never has that before. I asked my friend who is the foodie queen in Sibu and she brought me here. I did not try other as no space for meThis is really nice so I must introduce and let people know, we have such a good food. It comes with yellow noodles with sticky soup. The topping you can find char siew, kang kung, the soup itself have minced meat and half or 1/4 egg. I like the taste so I will visit them again!!

Visited recently. Ordered fish and chips which was well cooked and a large portion. Good value for RM12. Friends had local food which was about RM7 per person and very tasty.The karaoke was a bit loud. But service and food was good. It's not that easy to find but is near the "One Malaysia Cultural Village" at Bukit Aup.

There are 2 places to dine in, at least for what i know.1. The hotel cafe with quite nice a-la-carte food and cheesecake. i had one of my birthday celebration there and almost try all their cheese cake. Not all are superb but some really good. there are some promotion earlier, after certain time, their cakes is having discount.2. The restaurant at higher level for a wedding dinner. Food generally tasted not bad.

Very good Sibu style Chinese restaurant. I was told the food really reflected the local Chinese cuisines using locally available fresh fish, duck, meat, bamboo shoots, and vegetables. I found the taste really different but delicious. Today I invited to having lunch at this restaurant. The invitation was using all 47 tables at the ground floor at this restaurant. It was a real banquet. The foods were served simultaneously to all the tables. Really amazed to see the staffs organizing it.

Cheap, economic and large quantity. Somewhere worth to go for lunch or dinner because the portion is large and the price is cheap so as the food is tasty. (order the ones cook on spot)

My view, the Westerner.Apparently this restaurant is quite old, my father in law said it was there when he was growing up ... he's 85. I didn't really enjoy the food probably because it was nothing like 'chinese food' in the UK. No crispy chilli beef or sweet and sour chicken/pork. What was ordered on our behalf was bean curd and mince pork soup, 2 plates of local veg, duck and yam, and another yam thing, overcooked dry as a bone chicken and spare ribs in some kind of sauce. Let's just say the plain rice was nice. My husband's view, the Sibu bloke.He says the food was average, value for money. Basic Foochow food. The ambiance was authentic, good place for a family gathering. Unfortunately for someone who ate so much he has little to say ... So he must have enjoyed 80% of it. So to some it up. Popular with the locals, was busy, service was pleasant enough. Food as above. Didn't take any pictures, a bowl of rice is boring.

Make sure you order the fish dishes here! It's fresh, savory and reasonably priced. Choice of menu is great and most of the dishes are reasonably priced. Be sure to call and make a reservation as this place is mostly full for lunch and dinner.

Another chill hangout place with aircorn and not bad view. I am not sure about the food, the cake is average. I had coffee with special bean but it is not impressive. The environment and atmosphere are quite good

Good restaurant to taste authentic local Chinese food. We had lunch here and tasted the local vegetables ('sayur sapi'), pork, wild boar stew, noodles, fish cooked in salt, fish soup with sour cucumber, steamed river prawns, stewed pork legs, and fried vermicelli. All delicious. Uniquely different taste but delicious. Good service too as this restaurant is also catered for groups. The taste of the fish cooked in salt here is outstanding.
