Reviews on Chinese food in Shan State, Myanmar. Shan State (Burmese: ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်, pronounced [ʃáɴ pjìnɛ̀]; Shan: မိူင်းတႆး [mə́ŋ.táj]) is a state of Myanmar. Shan State borders China to the north, Laos to the east, and Thailand to the south, and five administrative divisions of Burma in the west. Largest of the 14 administrative divisions by land area, Shan State covers 155,800 km², almost a quarter of the total area of Burma. The state gets its name from the Shan people, one of several ethnic groups that inhabit the area. Shan State is largely rural, with only three cities of significant size: Lashio, Kengtung, and the capital, Taunggyi. Taunggyi is 150.7 km north east of the nation's capital Naypyitaw.

Friendly service, amazing food and great location. I come here several times a week and it really is one of the best options in Taunggyi. Have ordered pretty much everything in their menu and liked every single one of them. The bibimbap (off the menu) is awesome. Highly recommended.

We walked over one evening wanting to get something other than the hotelâs restaurant and it was worth the effort! Dinner comprised of the curry fish, avocado salad, vermicelli chicken soup and pork fried rice. So good and for US$10! Amazing place. It was night so not much view (rather no view). There is a long jetty right outside if you some by the day. Service was impeccable. Hope thereâll be more reviews. Little gem I would say.

Staying in Hsipaw, I needed a place to eat. I had heard the Chinese food was great - the location super close to China, relatively. So I read here about Mr. Food, and decided to check it out. It's an open restaurant with a bar filled with high-end whiskey. As it is closed for midday, I arrived at night, and sat at a clean, large, wooden table. Mr. Food greeted me, and gave me a pad to order. I started with the sweet and spicy chicken - I wanted something familiar. It was fantastic, and I got some rice - super cheap even for rice - to soak up the tasty sauce. It's cheap, the service is good, and the food is great. Mr. Food is a character, and I ate a good number of their wide selection of dishes.9/10 would recommend anything with chicken.

It was delicious dinner there with my friends on August 12 evening after looking stunning sun set near Maing Thauk wooden bridge. Their cooking was great. Minced pork, mixed vegetable salad and peanut curry were delicious. At that time 5 travellers of French family members also enjoy their dinner. Foods and price were acceptable. But their cooking was took very long time and also even not too much customers there at that time. During our dinner time, there were too many big mosquitoes there. Restaurant provided mosquito repellent roll but their mosquitoes seem as repellent resistant. I would visit there again, but only for lunch because of giant mosquitoes.

After a long road journey and visit to the pagodas just across, to sit and have a fantastic meal is a great culmination to a wonderful trip to Kakku. The restaurant is airy and spacious and one is served by traditionally attired staff, gracious and smiling. The food one gets is great. It's fresh, diverse and tasty, Avocado mash, tofu, Shan noodles, soup....everything is just so mouthwatering. You can also pick up some interesting handicrafts from a stall in the restaurant.Dear Pahari,Mingalabar!Thank you so much for your lovely words. It made our day beautiful. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit in Myanmar. We hope to see you again. Enjoy your travels!

I ate here a couple of weeks back and really enjoyed the experience. They serve ice cold beers and delicious bbq meats and vegetables. Particularly recommend the chicken wings and pork ribs. I think reordered twice. Very reasonably priced too. Owner/ Manager speaks good English and is very friendly and helpful.

Stopped here for lunch on our first day in Inle Lake. I ordered a beef curry and tea leaf salad, my wife had the local fish. Split large Myanmar beer. We sat on the roof overlooking the town, and just enjoyed the heck out of our food. The bill didn't hurt, either - about $9. My wife kept going on about her fish, so we made our way back - she got her fish, I ordered pork. Delicious again. Go here, you'll love it.
