I would like to rate it good instead of average, but not VERY good.Like most Chinese restaurants, Mandarin is fully decorated as possible which is normal for Chinese restaurants in Switzerland.In general, the place is comfortable in terms of space and set-ups. Despite those fancy Chinese elements, this place could have been very pleasant.Price-wise, hmmm, if you are looking for atmosphere, this place could be not too expensive, otherwise I would say "over-priced", fortunately, the taste is reasonable, despite the fact it tented to manipulate the customers to order more drinks while dinning.Overall, besides the fact of fancy decoration with a bit high price, this place is not bad, and they even give Chinese style calendars to customers as new year's gift, which may cause you a dilemma of "throwing away or not."For families or a group of people, this could be an ideal option for a better varietiy of choices.

This restaurant is really good, The food was very good and the portions quite big. The service was quick and friendly and they clearly kept a good eye on all tables as I noticed that wine glasses did not go empty and other empty glasses were quickly removed. Quality of Fried Rice was ok, however there is not much that could be made bad at such a simple dish. Luckily the very intense dried onions per put in one corner, so you can leave them out without spoiling the whole plate. Same for the peanuts.service was slow, unable to speak German, barely spoke English, the order-taking was with mistakes (we missed some of the Sushis, even though the order was really simple).From us three guests, one got served 5 minutes before the others (basic rule at lesson number one: serve all guests together).The payment process was also quite an uncontrolled situation, we wanted to pay individual and this was possible, however I am not sure if we all paid the correct amount (I guess less than necessary).the table was still dirty from our previous visitors and the cutlery in the general box on the table was quite dirty, too.Sauce for Sushi was not on the table and nobody cared.all in all, an expensive experience with mediocre service. We just loved the experience, the portions are generous and the service super efficient. The food was really good, when missing Asia this is one place to go :) definitely go and try the dumplings yum yum and the eggplant AMAZING

We went to have dinner there based on the review and good rating on TripAdvisor. Foods were okay...but the waitress were âtooâ friendly even told off my friend that she took too many foods? Itâs buffet dinner and people can take as many as they want as long as they can finish their foods! Feel uneasy at dinner as we were being watched everytime we took the foods from buffet table. Will not come back...Thank you for your review. Your feedback is important to us as we always try to improve the quality of our food and service. At our buffet you can eat as mach as you want as long as there is no waste. We are sorry to hear that you were feeling uncomfortable with our waitress. We came for dinner to this wonderful Viatnamese/Asian restaurant. All service personnel was extremely friendly, attentive and very helpful. Food came quickly (we did not go for the large buffet) and tasted excellent. On top the Thach looks so much better from the inside than the outside. Is this a helpful review? We went twice to this Chinese restaurant. Restaurant is conveniently located close to HB but the area is not the best and the room is average. Food is really good especially for Zurich where the taste is too adapted to European people. Roasted duck was really good except that the orange sauce was too artificial. Except than that all good: large plates, tasty stuff and very reasonable prices (for Zurich).
