First time eating here and last; ordered medium size Dan Dan; paid $3 for extra vegetables; box was half full; few tiny slivers of rubbery chicken; vegetables amounted to about 1/4 a carrot, 1 broccoli sprout; a few slices of Bok Choy and onion; spicy but flavourless broth that soaked the box. For $14 plus tax should have been given 3 times the amount of food; poor value and quality

Switch your dinner plans up with a visit to Golden Wok Take Out in Saint John. Our menu includes some of your favourite Chinese dishes. To order in, give us a call today.
The Golden Wok was recommended to me by a friend. We tried the Combo #3 and I have to say that I really enjoyed the food. It comes with chicken fried rice, chow mein, spare ribs, chicken balls. 1 eggroll and of course the fortune cookie. I usually skip the spare ribs and substitute it for the chicken balls (11 balls). We are both good eaters but there is so much food that we can't finish it. We save the left overs for lunch the next day.The take out service is very quick. The majority of the time we call it in and it is ready within 8 - 12 minutes. The food temperature is still hot when we get home (10 minute drive). To top it all off, the lady at the front desk is so friendly and nice.Great place for Chinese food and the price of $26-27 dollars is great as well.

Don't let the look of this restaurant fool you...the food is amazing! If this were in a different location with a nicer decor, it would already be rated in the top 10 in Saint John. It's authentic food, made from scratch. We usually go for lunch or I order to pick up on Fridays for supper. Try it, the food is as good as Thandi or Decimal 81.

The Queen's Buffet in Saint John had a very good buffet, lots of choices and the food was warm and tasty. I did find that it is a little over priced, Adults - $22.99 on the weekend for supper and $20.99 during the week is a little steep.

Mimimi is a restaurant with great, authentic-feeling Chinese food that has a limited menu, funky decor, expensive food, and just OK service.Starting with the food, the guo bao rou (pork hot dish) was a-mazing! Sweet almost like candy coating and perfectly done pork. As dim sum, the pork & veggie dumplings were great with the fairly spicy sauce they served on the side, The sticky rice and chicken wrap in lotus leaves was a taste sensation (don't eat the leaves) - a bit fish-saucy but definitely original around these parts. The steamed beef ball with mushrooms was a bit less flavourful than I'd hoped, but good, the spare ribs on a thin slice of buttercup squash were flavourful and tender - nice! The steamed soupy bao with pork was pretty good - I'd definitely order this unique taste again. The Chinese beer tasted like Bud Light to me, but the oolong tea was excellent and large. The red bean mochi ice cream is ice cream in a thick, semi-sweet, soft, chewy shell and I absolutely loved the combination of textures and flavours. My walk-away from Mimimi is that I enjoyed the experience, I think I tried almost everything on the menu that I think I'd enjoy, and the meal at $93 was a little on the expensive side - so I probably won't go back. I would if some friends wanted to go but the price/excellence balance was a little off for me.Also, the lighting is a little weird - the hanging bulbs are quite bright and can make you see spots. The service was good when ordering but a little slack when we wanted to leave - we simply could not get the server's attention.
