Over the years have visited often mainly for lunch. Not expensive and good wholesome chinese food. Never very busy so service always good and for a fixed price it offers several dishes from which to choose and very cheap.

The cafe had one couple in it for Sunday lunch. Not busy at all, I thought for 1.15pm!The decor was trendy & initially, the one waitress was attentive. Hopefully, we would be looking over the water in 15 mins, eating our t/a. We ordered a t/a serve of h/m dim sims ($5.80) & 2 x lunch packs (@$9.80) of BBQ beef & chicken/veggies, both with fried rice before the other couple ordered. I asked if some ginger could be added into my chicken? The message from the kitchen, through an interpreter was, âGinger from a bottle is fine but the vegetable is very expensive, so it would cost extra.â It sounded like it was just too hard, so I just took it as it was. While I sat next to the panel heater (the restaurant was freezing), an asian mother & her teenage daughter wandered into the cafe then straight through the kitchen doors. No problems with that but I could see that they ordered lunch & then sat down at a table- & guess what? Their 2 huge meals came out 5 mins later! Then some of the coupleâs dumplings came out.Another single woman came in, sat down & ordered. After more dumplings & meals were served to the couple, this lady asked where her lunch was? She was told, it was next. After 30 mins of waiting, I enquired where MY lunch packs were? The âcashierâ huffed back into the kitchen. 5 mins later she came back with, âThe chef is about to start your order.âThe other woman was clearly upset with that response. But after 40 mins, my order finally came out. I wished her luck as she had only been waiting 25 mins- another 15 mins to go!The food was bland & tasteless. The fried rice was like you get from the cheap & nasty food courts. I had a ladle of chicken/veggies & the rest was rice. The BBQ pork was in his âspecial recipeâ cantonese sauce- absolutely terrible, even the seagulls wouldnât touch it! Definitely not worth the $9.80. The h/m dimsims were passable but not worth $2 each. The staff were clearly stressed & unable to cope with a chef without english or good time management skills. Would I recommend this place? A resounding NO!

Went for a meal with a friend had the plum chicken, mini spring rolls, calamari and small fried rice. Chicken was ver good and large serve, mini Spring rolls too small, hard and not much inside. Calamari was ok but too much batter. Service was very good, and would go back, just have to get to know menu as all different.

The food was under the standard chinese restaurant. I think some food wasn't fresh. Service?? Bah.. the staff had dinner during the service. At 8,30.. wait long time for the waiters attention!

Although there was a mix-up with our booking, we booked for ten people but only table for eight available, staff did their best & we had a wonderful evening. Food was very tasty, perhaps not large serves, but everything was eaten with gusto & nothing sent back, only empty plates.
