My colleagues and I chose this restaurant for lunch, based on Trip Advisor evaluations. I regret that all four of us were truly disappointed. They and I love good Chinese food, I have enjoyed it regularly for decades in many different cities and in different countries. This place isn't even average, it was simply poor quality food in a very average environment. My pork lo mein was made with linguine noodles. Seriously, in the DFW area-how hard is it to get proper lo mein noodles? The taste was below average, at best. I like to judge a restaurant by the quality of its hot and sour soup: their version was basically egg flower soup with the flex of chili. None of the standard ingredients of true hot & sour soup were present. A colleague ordered wonton soup as her entrée: she described it as diluted chicken broth with below-average dumplings. No other ingredients were present. The remainder of the food choices were equally poor. None of the four of us thought the food was even average and none of us would be willing to go back. Because the prices are not less expensive than other places, there isn't anything to commend this restaurant.

When winter sets in something in my system screams to me in Chinese, you need an egg roll! This week I fell into Chans at the recommendation of a coworker. I ordered the standard Sweet and sour chicken and an egg roll lunch plate. The egg roll was a hand rolled cabbage based roll fried crispy and was very nice, although I prefer the bean sprout variety. The sweet and sour chicken was small chunks of chicken nicely fried in a tempura batter served with stir-fried onions peppers and pineapple. This is the second time in a week in two different cities I was served with the sweet and sour sauce on the side, but this time the sauce was both sweet and sour and served very warm. Overall, the restaurant is not fancy and is counter service, the food was very fresh and tasty. Although my quest for the perfect egg roll continues.

It's apparent when you sit inside this restaurant that the bulk of their business is delivery, but don't let that stop you from ordering and staying. The space is limited (maximum occupancy 49). We (3) stopped for dinner during the middle of the week, we started off being the only ones seated. They offer a family meal for 3 at a slightly discounted price and it provided plenty of food. We had 3 cups of soup, 3 egg rolls, 3 bowls of rice, and 3 main entrees and 3 fortune cookies. There were plenty of menu selection. The service was very quick and the food tasted great! As long as you are not looking for a lot in atmosphere, you'll be extremely satisfied with the food. Will definitely come again and will look at ordering through delivery. I realize a much earlier review was not favorable, but perhaps that was a one time event.
Where to eat Southwestern food in Mesquite: The Best Restaurants and Bars
This is a very small Chinese food place with no rest rooms. Lunch special from 11 to 3, which was helpful since it was after two for us having a late lunch. We had for $ 6.25 the vegetable delight It came with a vegetable spring roll and steamed or fried rice. I did not get rice so they gave me almost double vegetables which included tasty broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, cabbage, and snowpeas

I haven't eaten here in years, but it used to be good and a good value. It's no longer a table service restaurant. You now order at the counter. The decor had been completely changed and the inside dining is pretty stark. That's the negative, the positive is the quality, quantity and value of the food. My beef and snow peas dish was delucious, spiced to my liking and more than I could eat for lunch. If you are close by and looking for great take-out, this is the place. For take-out, I give it a 5 star rating.
