The food here is excellent. The service left something to be desired. Once our food arrived, our waitress never came by to ask us how things were. She also never smiled. It wasn't until after lunch that we got any kind of smile and interaction out her and not until she was boxing our food to take home. We hope she was just having a bad day, because the food here is very good.

Last Thursday evening we were guided to a tucked-away restaurant named "Forum Dynasty" .... aah - ha .... a secret Chinese food location? As a group of six, we were all seated at a large, circular, lazy-susan top, table. From the restaurant's name and our host, we all looked forward to, and hoping to, enjoy some Chinese cuisine. Now, I have enjoyed Chinese food in the past and looked forward to this evening's surprise. Our Host and Maestro, Miss Carol, was pleasant, helpful and very knowledgeable. With Carol's help, we were guided through a great selection - from family style dinners, appetizers, soups, poultry, beef, pork, seafood, vegetarian, tofu, fried rice, chow mein, chow fun, Hawaiian BBQ, specials, mild to hot & spicy options, and beverages (tea, coffee, milk, soda, juices, beers, wines, and Saki). Following our choices, their preparation and presentation was timely and absolutely top-notch .... surpassed only by the quantities and excellent taste of each delight.The "Dynasty" has a homey atmosphere with an ambiance of casual and cozy setting, having friendly staff, clean facilities, and .... reasonable prices! We first met Kitty while she was working at another restaurant in town. Now she's opened her own place and my wife and I really like it! It's a small shop in a small shopping center in the north end of Manteca. I'll be the first to admit that I am far from an expert in Chinese food. With that being said, I want to add that I have liked the Chinese dishes that I tried here. They also have some tasty American dishes and I tried my first one, a Philly cheese steak, this afternoon. The menu is quite varied and I'm sure you will find something you'll like. The only downside is that Kitty is usually the only one waiting tables so when the place is business service can be a bit slow.

I have seen Panda Express for years, but had never have eaten at one. Finally we did. I was pleasantly surprised. This is a great alternative to typical fast food of burgers or burritos. Flavors were good. Restaurant was clean. Choices were ample. Staff was friendly. Restrooms were clean. I would go back.

I never go to Chinese buffets. This proved I should try others.We were staying in the Best Western next door. Loved the vast number of choices. I felt we were able to get a healthy meal. NO BEER or WINE. A slight downer but that sure cuts the price the meal. Try it especially is you are staying next door in the excellent BW.
