Oh man, this place has good dumplings! Went there four times in four days and still can't get enough of them. I don't think Burma is known for dumplings but this place can certainly help change that. There are some noodle dishes also, but really the dumplings are what you should come for. There are some dessert dishes, like shaved ice, that I finally felt comfortable trying as the place is clearly very clean and well maintained. Not bad.The place staff is very kind and attentive, and for a reason I couldn't understand always gave us a complimentary bottle of water when we were leaving.I think this place is a real find and you're sure to enjoy the dumplings.

Very good western and Asian food. Portions are good and the presentation is excellent. Large, modern dining area, yet it is not loud. Somewhat bland design. The service is very good.parkng is tight, so they help you find a spot and guide you into it. Prices are reasonable. We go there every few weeks.

First I must inform you that the restaurant has moved (about 5 minutes away by car) and the name is now Yunan III.So over to the food: It was really good. We could choose from many different meat and seafood and everything tasted terrific. The staff was kind and helpful, and at least one of them spoke English well. We didn't see any other foreigners at all but a lot of locals, both families and groups of friends. Since we have three children we too often go to more western restaurants, but we really enjoyed this Burmese food.It is a big restaurant, and a lot of guests, but I don't think you ever need to make a reservation. And finally the price: Dinner for two adults and three children including beer and a lot of food was 16.000 kyat (about 17 USD). Can't complain about that!
I paid a visit last night and the place was packed with locals. They have and air-conditioned floor upstairs and were I was placed. As per my title the menu is quite extensive. Beware, the portions are huge! I ordered the Thai style salad and the chicken Singapore style curry and didn't touch the rice that came with the curry. The chicken was well cooked but oily as expected in this part of the world. I must have got a discount because I didn't touch the plate with the rice. With rough calculation I should have paid MMK 10.000 but in fact I paid MMK 7.000. Thank you guys :-)

27th street Between 65th and 66th street,Chan Aye Thar San township,Mandalay. The restaurant serve food Asia and Chinese style(Curries, fried chicken wing with honey, pork with Basil leaf...)and another fresh fruit and cool drink.Very good review on TripAdvi
We came in here looking for something simple (ie western) due to a bit of a dodgy stomach but ended having Burmese food anyway. Quite nice but nothing to get too excited about. Definitely aimed at the tourist market and a little bit expensive. Good service though. Advertising board outside offered burgers - which is what drew us in - but nothing like it on the menu.

The Golden Duck is a great spot to try when you're tired of Burmese food from street-side restaurants. This restaurant clearly caters to tour groups, which isn't always a great thing, but the food was good and the air conditioning was lovely. This restaurant also has a nice view of the Royal Palace. Expect it to be a little pricier than what you may be used to in Myanmar, but not outrageous by anyone's standards.
Where to eat Pub food in Mandalay: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We stumbled across this restaurant after the two previous ones we tried did not have anything vegetarian on the menu. The staff were very friendly from the moment we entered. The restaurant was tastfully decorated and looked very clean. The waiter spoke good English and offered suggestions to suit our diet. After ordering we were told mushrooms were no longer available for one of the dishes so they asked if we would like the same dish with various substitutions to compensate. Shortly after we were told that some mushrooms had been delivered and if we wanted them, they could be added to the dish. When the food arrived it was excellent with a big variety of vegetables and full of flavour. Everything tasted fresh. The owner came to check with us, so we asked him to join us at the table and had a great conversation about his vision for Myanmar and it's people and what led him to opening the restaurant. He also introduced us to his two grown sons and wife who were all in the restaurant at the time and all very pleasant. A very unexpected and enjoyable evening with great food at a good price. Highly recommended.

We came to this modest establishment not expecting much, but had to review because the food is excellent! We had different types of noodles, fried dumplings and fried tofu. All good! Most of all, the prices are very affordable. Really good quality food for what we paid. The staffs were also friendly. My kids even got to partake in the making of the dumplings! We had a complete dining experience here and the kids enjoyed themselves. Thanks Mogok Daw Shan Noodles!

With 3 floors of restaurant space, this diner has enough dining space that matches their very large menu!On entry, the ground floor looks rather like it caters for the local community, the first floor has an air-conditioned dining room, and the top terrace is open air, where we chose to sit, on a very warm evening with an ice cold Myanmar beer. There are 2 menus to choose from, the BBQ menu and the Ala carte Asian menu.We opted for the Asian cuisine, that included a Rakhine-style clay pot.All portions were rather large for just the 2 of us, and this restaurant would therefore be perfect for a large group of people, allowing them to taste a large variety of dishes. The menu is made easier for the diner by dividing the selections into the different proteins offered, and there are photographs of every dish on offer. We thoroughly enjoyed their duck claypot, the basil chicken and the two-way style prawns. The prawns were large, tasty and super-fresh.The price of our meal was very reasonable for the type and amount of food we received. The service is prompt, and the food is fresh...a perfect end to a day of touring in Mandalay's unrelenting heat!!
