This is a Thai/Chinese restaurant located next to a beautiful pond with fountains and lush gardens. The restaurant is covered outside tables very clean, delicious food , and excellent service. My only negative is I feel the prices are a little high for Thailand. But the food is excellent quality and very well prepared. So if you want to treat yourself too comfortable beautiful outside dining in a garden setting with excellent service it's worth the extra money

This is the number one ranked Chinese restaurant on tripadvisor but it was one of the worst Chinese restaurants I have been to. The calamari were completely rubbery and overdone, the satay was pedestrian and unremarkable, the hot plate beef again totally overcooked and without flavour. Only the grilled beef was cooked on point, and the fried rice was good. Service was friendly but of the two ordered steamed rice none arrived until chased, when a mere one was delivered. Overall a very disappointing experience, will not go again. How this restaurant is ranked so highly I will never know. To cap it all every dish is massively overpriced.

The Thai food is excellent but the Farang food is a bit hit and miss. The burgers are good but stay away from the pizza (too much cheese? and not mozzarella?) and the sandwiches (too much bread). I think the "grilled sausages" might actually be fried...However, none of this detracts from the lovely ambience and great staff! The staff are very welcoming and friendly.Also - the coffee is great there too - as well as the homemade ice creams with different flavoured cones.5/5

We had a lovely dinner overlooking the river and grounds. The former British Consulate is a gorgeous building. Our waitress - Barfai (?) - was exceptional and very accommodating. Highly recommend coming here - be prepared for about a USD 40 per person meal for drink, appetizer, meal, side. My wife, my kid and I had a memorable 5 nights staying at this countryside property located in Doi Saket district of Chiang Mai. In there, you enjoy all the moment that gives you the feeling of calm and peaceful. If you live in the city for long why not taking a short visit to this country resort. Especially if you are currently in work, your work makes you plan, plan, or being planed every day. But when it comes to holidays, staying at such a beautiful resort you will just be relaxed, do nothing and plan as little possible and not to worry a things. There are some distance between down town and the resort and so as from the international airport, about 45 minutes drive, more or less. It is not far though when you are talking about countryside. I like to personally thank to James and his wife for their hospitality and also to the staffing who served us breakfasts at the Tara every morning, made tide to our room, setting up the facilities every time when we walked inside the pool area. All of them are good peoples, friendly and being helpful. I will treat James and his family "yum cha" if in the occasion they come over to Hong Kong. I wish them best of luck, healthy and happiness as always.
