My wife and I grabbed lunch here on our way to Las Vegas recently. We have eaten here before but are not regular patrons. The service was ok but nothing special. The server seemed offended when we declined the glasses of water she was automatically placing on every table. She acted like she didn't understand why we didn't want the water so I asked her if she knew there was a drought in California at which time she just turned and walked away. The owner seemed put out as well as I could hear him constantly telling her to take us water and her telling him that we didn't want it. One safety issue was the temperature of their hot tea. It was scalding and we nearly dropped our cups due to the temperature of the contents. I also burnt my mouth trying to take a sip of the tea after several minutes. My wife had the sweet & sour pork, which she thought was very good but not excellent. I had the szechuan pork, which was ok but not excellent or even very good. Their complimentary fortune cookies were the cheap, tasteless type that weren't worth the effort of eating them. Based on this most recent visit, I cannot recommend this place as everything was just 'average' overall. However, if you find yourself in the middle of the high desert and in need of lunch or dinner, this would be a fairly cheap place to grab a bite. Just don't expect anything outstanding.

Surprisingly good food. Located on Clear Lake, this is simple, authentic Chinese food. Rice is separate, and since we are avoiding carbs, there were no temptations. Prices are very reasonable, if you are staying at the Worldmark Resort nearby, there is a 10% discount. There are lunch specials Mon-Sat.

I was only in Clearlake a few nights but we ate here one night, and had a takeaway the next!!!!! Great portions, great food, the walnut shrimp is my fave although I struggle to stop eating it!! It will be a first destination on my next visit to the area
Located on Main in Lakeport, open 11 am to 9 pm. Forget the MGS when you enter here. Everything is local, and it is fresh. Vegetables steamed to perfection, meat thoroughly cooked, cashews/peanuts still retain a bit of crunch, sauces are each different and distinctive. Friendly staff, eager to please and serve you, but not smothering. Whole place is rather quiet too! Maybe it is the high ceilings!?! It is a family-type operation, and part of their service excellence is bringing the food to your table quickly. The fair bit of my title has to do with the pricing. We ordered four meals, payed an average of $8 per meal, plus drinks. Enjoy!
Wife and I were staying at the Anchorage on a Sunday night when we asked Siri for an open restaurant. Small Town, off season, not much on a school night open, so there were a couple pizzerias and hoagie stations, then there was, on the south side edge of town, Hong Kong in clear Lake. Old brick building. Very American Chinese, but delicious and ample servings. We asked for chop sticks. We had the prawns, shrimp, and deliciously and amply cooked pot stickers for hors d'oeuvres. Hot tea was great, service available and friendly. Not expensive.
