Find out what Chinese restaurants to try in Lilongwe. The quiet capital of Malawi, Lilongwe is divided into New and Old Towns. The Old Town is where to go for bustling stores, markets, cafes, hotels, and restaurants. The New Town houses embassies, international aid organizations, and corporate headquarters. A large expat population has made Lilongwe a very Western city, and a perfect stopping point for tired travelers to relax and pick up some essentials for their trip to the country’s wildlife reserves or to the beaches of Lake Malawi.

Due to the purpose of my stay in Malawi, initially we had been advised/ recommended the restaurant at the sunbird hotel in Lilongwe, so thatâs what we did, until a meeting and confusion about the location of the meeting brought us to The Lilongwe Wildlife Trust (LWT).We happened to find Fusion Cafe a hidden little gem! The settings and atmosphere is brilliant and the friendly staff canât do enough to help you. There is the option to stay however we have primarily only been there for the food and good coffee. If you find yourself in Malawi and indeed Lilongwe get yourself in to Fusion itâs good selection is good and all prepared fresh. It also acts as a welcome reprieve from the busyness of Lilongwe. There is ample parking and if you have the time take a stroll around LWT as itâs mini wildlife park is interesting and and insight into the amazing biodiversity Malawi has to offer and is working to protect.
Where to eat Indian food in Lilongwe: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant I've ever eaten at. The last 3 times I've been there, it was not quite as good. The sesame chicken was my favorite. with a slightly crispy texture and a thick honey/sesame glaze. Recently the chicken is not at all crispy and the glaze has become a watery sauce with less flavor.
Sana Food Courts hosts 5 Restaurants offering a wide range of foods including: Dairy, Indo Chinese, Flame Grilled. Also a cafe with a Children's Play Park!
I have had lunch here on couple of occasions as this is close to the place of my work. The best thing about Sana food court is a wide variety of cuisines and vast parking place. However, the quality of food varies and fluctuates. I had to suffer upset tummy on two occasions may be due to the poor quality oil or other ingredients they might be using. I have been avoiding this place, of late.

Our group of 4 stayed at the Bridgeview for 6 nights in September. Our bill for 6 nights of evening meals plus about 3 days' worth of lunch meals was 131,200 Kwacha, about US$240 at the exchange rates in effect at the time. We had not a single complaint about the food, and in fact, the Peri Peri Prawns were such a hit that 3 of our team ordered it several times each. If you like Indian food, you'll love this restaurant! If you don't like Indian food, go anyway, because all the food is good, and there are plenty of selections to choose from that aren't Indian.

I was craving some western style Chinese food and Noble China fixed my cravings with their Sweet and Sour Chicken. I would not say it was the most authentic Chinese food I've had,but it was good and I enjoyed my meal. I also had their steamed dumplings and they weren't bad either, one of my dumplings had a chewy piece of meat in the stuffing but the rest were fine. The staff were pleasant and attentive and the prices were good. I like that they had a small and large option for each item on the menu, as you don't have to over eat or pay for more than you need as a solo diner, and there was still more than enough per portion. I will be visiting again.

this resturand is part of the crossroads hotel. specializing in indian cuisine. you are always made welcome by the manager and food is freshly prepared. their naans are fresh and crispy. their butter chicken is very nice . sometimes service is slow if they have other functions going on but generally its okay. you can relax in a reasonably quite atmosphere and enjoy your meal. try their sizzlers also nice. you have to specify the level of heat in your food otherwise they are a tad heavy .
