This is listed twice, once as China Town, and once as Chinatown. Not fancy seating or location, but buffet has tons of tasty choices, and a good value. This should be rated much higher than many of the restaurants currently above it. My wife and I usually eat there every Sunday we are in Lake Jackson. It typically has 4 soups, several fish dishes, shrimp, crab, several chicken and pork dishes, salad fixings, fruit, desserts, ice cream, etc. The number of choices are awesome. I like the pork ribs, beef broccoli, mushrooms, fried fish, boiled shrimp, chicken teriyaki, etc. Everything on the buffet is fresh at noon, so I prefer then rather than dinner. You can eat a big, varied lunch and you will be too full for dinner. Our lunch with water to drink usually costs $10-12 apiece. This is a great value.

I visited Taste of Nations on a Tuesday evening at 6:30. There were three other tables with people when I walked in, and before the owner could seat me he got two consecutive calls for takeout (this happened several times while I was in the restaurant, so it appears this place is popular for takeout). During my visit I realized the owner was the only server, and I saw one other employee come out of the kitchen and answer the phone a few times. After being seated by the owner, he helped the other tables for a few minutes then returned to mine and I ordered a small hot and sour soup, an iced tea (no alcohol here), and the Swai Fillet (CS12). In addition, a plate of crispy egg noodle chips with sweet and sour sauce is brought out. My iced tea showed up within minutes, and soon after this I got the sweet and sour soup. Unlike many hot and sour soups Iâve had, this one had some gelatinous material in it (donât know what it is) but it was very good although not as peppery as most hot and sour soups Iâve had. When the owner brought out the swai fillets (see picture), I was a little flabbergasted as it consisted of two large fillets sprinkled with scallions and ginger root, accompanied by a âspecialâ sauce that looks something like soy sauce. The fillets were done perfectly, and they have a slight crispiness to them that I found to be a pleasing texture. The ginger root and scallions added a great complement to the fish, which is also accompanied by a bowl of rice. The owner said if I didnât want to eat both fillets heâd box them up for me, but I assured him since I hadnât had lunch that I would eat both. The entire time I was in the restaurant I noticed the owner doing a great job of visiting every table on a regular basis, being extremely polite, and never letting my iced tea get less than half full â this is truly great service in my book. I heard the owner explaining some of the dishes to the other patrons; you canât go wrong if you want authentic Chinese food at Taste of Nations!

My wife and I typically eat here about once a week for good Chinese. They have many choices, and it is buffet style. Chinatown has all the common things like choices of 4 soups, egg rolls, and spring rolls, rice, noodles, and all the common Chinese dishes. It also has boiled shrimp, king crab, salad fixings, fruits, and a limited selection of desserts (and ice cream machine).I particularly like the boiled shrimp with zucchini squash, the pork BBQ short ribs, and the chicken stickers. Also the pepper steak with broccoli, and the General Tsao chicken. The baked fish has tasted somewhat fishy, so I avoid it. We get a senior discount of 10%. The meal usuallly runs us about $20.00 for two persons. Add the cost of drinks to this.
If you like this type of buffet,, this is the place. Nice & clean, nice restrooms, good flavor and lots of MSG I suppose,, will definitely return when in the area,,

Large buffet with Asian & American food. Large variety of fresh sushi. Even when crowded, easy to maneuver around the buffet serving stations. Great tasting and fresh! There is a hibachi grill where you choose all of the raw ingredients of your hibachi experience. The chef will grill your choices and add the flavoring of your choice. My favorite is the chili sauce. This restaurant offers discounts for Seniors, Policemen, Firemen, Military, School Teachers, School/Church Groups.
