This restaurant is an institution in Kamapla. Opened several decades ago this was one of the first Chinese restaurants in Kampala. The restaurant is very specious and also able to cater for larger functions. The service is very prompt and good and portions are gigantic. Every dish you order caters for 4 so be careful not to order too much. We ordered some 4 dishes but this was way way too much. We packed a lot but even left half on our plates. Food is excellent, highly recommended.

I visited Fang Fang in Nakasero last week. The waiter didn't know what wines were available, was at sea when we mentioned Chardonnay and so the rigmarole began: sweet/dry/medium sweet ... Let me check... Five minutes later/white "wine is over"/okay, let's try red,/what red do you have?/but you haven't told us yet what red wine you have ... Eventually a glass of red was delivered which promptly upset the tummy of the guest who ordered it. There's obviously no investment in training of the local staff, or regard for customer service. Even the concierge and receptionist were Chinese and both spoke barely passable English, another telltale sign that investment in local human resources is zero. The grass was unacceptably overgrown for a facility that relies on garden catering. Oh, you remember the adage that if you want to assess the state of an institution's hygiene you visit its toilets? It's totally valid. I only went as far as the urinal and was totally staggered. Suffice it to say that I'll never eat anything at Fang Fang again without checking out their toilets first.

We loved the menu choices. The staff were helpful, and service from the local waiters was great. Enjoyed the food, but the menu prices are ridiculously expensive. There was nothing special about the vegetarian and meat dishes we ordered. It was just basic Indian meal dishes, but the menu prices were much more than what we have paid in other countries. Even the fruit juices and soft drinks seemed to be expensive. It is just basic curry meal dishes with masala chai, nothing special. Doesn't matter how much ghee you pour on the "nan and butter chicken". I found it strange that the restaurant opens for lunch, and than closes until dinner time. Than they open for dinner. They do not realize they can have customers in the afternoon!Guess it is the way things are done in India, and it's too difficult to change.

A desire to have South Indian cuisine and Indian street food prompted us to visit this establishment. The restaurant has a secure parking area and we parked as advised. The staff directed us to a table of our choice. We were a little worried when we realized that two large parties were already underway and normally this would compromise service to the other patrons but we were wrong. The Manager and staff were exceptional. Our menus came, orders were taken and meals arrived quickly and well made.Despite a varied selection, food was excellent,we could not fault anything.South Indian thali simply exceptional, chicken tikka Masala with butter nan, fantastic. The Pau bhaji was well made and presented. The accompaniments and papadums very nice.Overall,it was an exceptional evening with very good food. Thanks for your visit Mr Ashraf and writing a review for us. Your words do matter for us and support the team for their efforts to make your dining experience memorable. We wait for your next visit and hope it will soon.
