We opened Quenas with the dream of presenting the wide diversity and fusion of Peruvian food, using the best and most authentic ingredients, in a modern presentation. Peruvian cuisine fuses many different ethnicities, including Spanish, Chinese, Japanese,
Had dinner with another couple on a recent Saturday night - our first time here though they had been before. Small place in Harrison with authentic decor and reservation signs at every table. We started with their Sangria - not too sweet and oh so delicious. Appetizers were terrific, the flavor combinations though unique to our tastes, worked beautifully together. I enjoyed a delicious Chicken dish with a very slight kick and my husband had the Peruvian Paella. We both proclaimed our meals amazing. Not a big dessert eater, I agreed to have a taste of a plate of Churros ordered for the table. Outstanding - crispy on the outside and filled with delicious Dulce de Leche in the middle. We will return!

there are many chinese takeout places in harrison...most have been around for a long time and are just merely average,,,,i have ordered twice from this gem ..the food rivals chinatown in new yourk...the prices are fair the quality is way above anything that is offered by other places. the people are nice to deal with.......finally some good quality takeout!!!
I placed an order over the phone for a lunch special for a steamed chicken and broccoli on 9/25/08 at 3pm. The good news was they steamed it but they didn't give me any sauce. Chicken and broccoli comes with a brown sauce always. To top it off I think they charged me full price for the meal. I didn't realize I was over charged and sauceless until I sat down at home to eat my lunch. It was a completely unsavory lunch.I tried Taku by chance and I will definitely not go back.
Their dishes are superior to most in the area. For what is basically a take out place, the quality and taste are excellent. Soups are perfect. Seafood is consistently great. Even though they stick to a traditional menu, their chef brings everything to a higher level. They recently doubled in size and ran a buffet briefly, but now it is a coventional small restaurant. Parking is on the street in front. Service is quick. I have only complaint, which prevents me from giving it an excellent rating: The owner (a young woman) needs to polish her rough edges and treat customers with a smile instead of a scowl.
